Coronavirus

Gladys just now was asked about why is she saying September and October are the hardest months but then saying she will be reducing restrictions.

Bear in mind she has always said she follows the health advice, she said "she has tasked Dr Chant, to tell her what low level activity might be available to those that are fully vaccinated".

So no, she isn't listening to the health advice, she is directing them towards a conclusion instead of letting them run the show.

Dan calling out anti-Semitism in todays presser. After he instigated it. Bit late for that.

Yeah and they'll be stay at near 500 cases a day for the next 2 months and the hospital system may well get overwhelmed. Great strategy

But yes the PM for Sydney will do his best to get her more vaccines than anyone else. The other premiers, especially Andrews, need to make a huge noise about this. Quite frankly Gladys has made her own bed and she can lie in it. No way Victorians should be disadvantaged by redirection of vaccines to NSW; that is *smile*.
Can we hold back on the hospital system being overwhelmed claims. we got nowhere that last year. More worrying is the number of other medical procedures once again kicked weeks down the road as hospitals are "reserved" for potential COVId cases.

maybe but don't try to claim that Premier Andrews is just an amplifier for CHO Suttons recommendations.

Appalling testing rate by Victorians, the 1st couple of days of this wave we did get to 50,000 we are now in a worse position and testing has dropped away to continual low numbers around 30,000. No way is that going to help tracers get control of the ViC situation.
Not that big a surprise. Many people who are doing the right thing would already be vaccinated & protected from the virus. Stands to reason testing numbers would be lower.

This is a bit embarassing.
don't worry about the poor nations or the refugees fleeing afghanistan. as long as we can open up asap to get a good feed at a restaurant.

the poor who can't isolate or feed their families and are exposed to covid should be the top priority. But the affluent of western europe, US, UK have pushed into the front of the queue so they can go to the ski fields.

Even with our low numbers Covid ambulances had to be diverted to other emergency departments as infected staff had to be furloughed leaving a severe shortage. Overwhelmed hospitals take many forms, imagine if we did get to NSW numbers.

As for delaying medical procedures, I hope not, I have one scheduled in a couple of weeks

Still not enough people getting tested for COVID-19: Victorian Premier
