Coronavirus

As somebody else pointed out, you can’t apply “spots” of restrictions around an entire state and expect to control it. One person from one town is ok to enter… someone else up the road isn’t….ah who knows let’s just go.

I don’t understand why don’t get that.

No worries.

I'll go back to my original point.

No-one is allowed to leave Sydney and go to another part of NSW. this has been the case for 3 weeks.

there are no cases in NSW outside Sydney.

therefore, on the current numbers and laws, the risk to Victorians from regional NSW, is actually 0.

but as I said numerous times,

I completely understand your POV and partially agree with it.

You can’t guarantee any of that and when the numbers hit the 100’s like they’re expected to thus week, you’ll be even less able to.

Given all the other states have successfully introduced hard border controls under expert advice and protected themselves accordingly several times over when Victoria has had outbreaks, why wouldn’t Victoria do exactly the same thing ???

you talked proximity and people exchange.

Tibooburra is in NSW, but way further from Sydney than Warnambool and far fewer people move between Tibooburra and Sydney than Sydney and warnabool.

im pointing out the arbitrary nature of borders and people, the chinks in our federation and how it relates to Covid.

I understand why you dont get my point.

No worries.

Borders are of course arbitrary to some degree but if people don't pass through them then they work pretty well.

agree.

and if we think of the current regulatory line surrounding greater sydney,

as a border.

then I think we all agree completely with each other? dont we?

aaaaaahhhhhh. such a nice place.

I have no faith in Gladys being able to enforce such a border, so sorry Ezy, no. We close the state borders now.

over 20 cases this morning for tomorrow's figures.
I think Vic are waiting until last possible minute to close it (midnight or 6am)

and guess what? that requires a PM capable of, and prepared to, show decent leadership.
This is so true. He's a dud. Worse he's starting to get a little beligerent. That real catholic/superior/judgemental attitude. He can *smile* off and let a real leader have a go. Fraud.

People still break the law and go through closed borders.

if he was catholic, we'd only have a pedophile pisshead in charge

this is heaps worse.

Surprised it took this long for the racism calls. How many people catch it at the beach? Is Bindi beach a known hotspot? Outdoor open space transmission common?
So the police do their job and idiots call racism. Moronic.
You don't think it would have been hugely more beneficial to send out multi-lingual information helpers to inform and educate people who may be having trouble understanding what is going on? Not only would this remove the "police throwing people in vans" and calls of "gestapo", but it would IMO have a greater chance of getting the community onboard with what needs to be done.

And yes, they should have done something in the eastern suburbs of Sydney weeks and weeks ago. The biggest super-spreader event was from Bondi, which I think has cracked the 200 cases mark as a result.

i reckon NSW will see a few deaths in the next few weeks.

and the people who have been shopping at Ikea and going to mobile margarita parties will ring Alan Jones and rage on the government.

So it seems Slomo and Fraudenburg and Hunt have been caught taking credit for others work again.
It was some senior Australian businessmen and former PM Kevin Rudd who helped organise the advance shipment of Pfizer vaccines.

What a bunch of *smile* do nothing frauds we have running the joint.

if you think ignorance is Ok 15 months into a pandemic it’s a pointless discussion. You don’t seriously think it’s ok to still not understand about covid or be aware of where to get info?

Bondi beach a hotspot? People catching it on the beach?
