Coronavirus

I am wondering whether I am just paranoid or do other Victorians feel like there seems to be more national coverage and sympathy from the media relating to the NSW lockdown than the Last Victorian one?
I may be imagining it but it feels that way to me.

I was thinking the opposite, but im a bit biased cause I hate Sydney and love Melbourne

"Gold Standard" Gladys has been afforded a much easier run from the media. Strange really. Not

AT least LNP has made overt the fundamentally, obviously differentiation from Labor.

LNP put commerce ahead of public health.

Never has it been so decisive, obvious, and stark.

I cant recall a time when, anyone who says 'they're all the same', has been so obviously wrong.

its exactly the same ideology on Climate Change, operating over 30 days, instead of 30 years.

From a political POV, its like when those people at markets offer you a free tiny bit of toast with their sheeps camembert rolled in petrified river red gum dust. and you can buy a jar for heaps, or not.

but im not that optimistic that

1. 51% of the voting public will be able to draw this conclusion, or

2. Disagree with the ideology.

I suspect there's a heap of Australians who would choose to be able to buy a sunbeam bagel maker,

than contribute to a temporary civilisation, that increases the likelihood that nana can breathe.

I don’t get it so much from the media. That may because I get a lot of my news about the Pandemic from the ABC blog and they’re based in Brisbane. I do see a huge difference in the way Morrison spoke about the current NSW situation and the almost off hand way he referred to our situation last year.

What lockdown Sin? They write their own rules and go out as they see fit.

Now they have angled it as the federal government better give us financial support and the greatest share of Pfizer or we will let it run free in the community....

Victorians did the hard yards and Dan Andrews was made to look like Hitler reincarnate. New South Wellies can't even be *smile* doing an initial snap lockdown.

Look at the results, delta strain everywhere and ICU beds filling up. Unaustralian.

Ffs close the *** border. How long is it going to take the Victorian government ???

I get this sentiment, but I dont get it too.

cases only in Sydney.

people from Sydney aren't allowed to leave Sydney

people from Sydney aren't allowed to go to Victoria.

The Murray River is not a Covid barrier.

People in Wagga Wagga are equally exposed to Covid right now, as people in Warnambool.

But ezy the problem is that it’s not a fair dinkum lockdown. Burnings and IKEA and Kmart are still open FFS. And people from Sydney have been moving all over Sydney as opposed to being locked down to local 5km zone like we were in Melbourne. and we know people from Sydney have been caught in regional areas when they shouldn’t have been there. It is a *smile* lockdown and no wonder cases are increasing daily rather than decreasing as they should. It’s like Sydneysiders think they are too important to be locked down.

Plus, I read today that there are 300 people returning to Melbourne every day from Sydney red zones. WTF?? What are so many people doing in Sydney and why are the suddenly coming back to Melbourne? Based on all factors above the border should be shut now and probably should have been shut days ago. I think we will be very lucky if we avoid a Sydney based COVID outbreak in Melbourne.

Did Gladys get complacent? Was she reluctant to enforce a proper lockdown after her criticism of Victoria? Or did she feel compromised in imposing her authority after her booboo with Maguire?

Reckon they're a week away from a similar fate to Victoria if they don't get serious.

yeah fair enough.

anyone seen ScoMo?

Hopefully none of the Vic returnees have it. I hope they are getting the right advice, I don't want to go into lockdown again but if they bring it back we will have to go into lockdown.

There’ll undoubtedly be transmission into regional areas now. This is a bs lockdown. And besides, you really think that controlling the red spots is realistic ? It’s easier to control a total border closure. Wagga Wagga v Warrnambool ??? What ???
