Coronavirus

......
I was simply pointing out that at no stage has anyone, at either level, been willing to be accountable for decisions made. It's always someone else's job.

It seems to be no matter which level of Govt, State of Feds, the art of blame-shifting, not me is very prevalent.
Teflon finger pointers!! the lot of them haha.

Just had the Fixer jab , geez I hate needles

As needles go the AZ was small and really not that bad, still, we all have our preferences as needles have never worried me. One more and its done.

3 is a good number of cases, hopefully we will start seeing zero, which would be the point of the lockdown along with giving the contact tracers a fair shot at making all the links. I suspect the lockdown was not just because of community transmission, but also the sheer number of sites where infectious people had been. The number of exposure sites is a worry.

That’s a bit odd coming from a bloke covered in tough stickers!

I’ve been feeling like a bloody pin cushion lately…
Got the AZ jab few weeks ago, then my annual blood test, then a regular blood donation, then got the normal flu shot on Monday.
At least got a bit of needle free time until the 2nd AZ

after listening to the presser i reckon there is the slightest of slight chances this new lockdown could end early ( if weekend has 3 days of zero cases)

on the flip side

If next Monday to Wednesday is still 5 to 10 new cases a day, it will get extended even further.

Likely will be just 7 days, but there is a chance.

Given the existing facilities - Christmas Island, Howard Springs - didn't have the necessary capacity, there were no other realistic options that I'm aware of.

So it comes down to management of that realistic option.

By the time any facilities are built - even if they start building tomorrow - we should be fully vaccinated and open again.

Vaccination is the only way out now and the faster the better.
From all reports it appears that the faux plan to build a joint at Mickelham is coming to fruition with the impending announcement it'll be down Geelong way....
cunning as foxes these politicians of all persuasions!
Gerry the van man will also be extremely chuffed...
There is some serious coin being made by a few 'great Australians' during the pandemic;)

Finally the Feds are coming to the aid of Australians with relief payments.

I guess that blows the budget forecast out of the water though.

Quarantine, vaccines. Priority ONE.

Got through to the COVID hotline today and booked in for my second Pfizer jab in 2 weeks.

for those who have had their vaccine, I recommend you check your “Immunisation History Statement” on the My Gov website to ensure it is listed there.

I reckon there will be a point in the future where you will need this documentation to be allowed to travel (especially overseas or interstate during an outbreak like we are going through now)

anyone who is critical of the response by the victorian contact tracing authorities, I say this... they have been adding 30-35 exposure sites per day over the last 10-12 days, yet we are only getting 5-10 cases per day (and hopefully back to zero soon). I think it gives a really good indication of how well they are doing. with the amount of exposure sites, this outbreak could easily be in the hudreds by now.

Here in Denmark we have a concept which translates into English as "Corona-passport" which is a digital signature on an app which confirms that you have either had the disease, been fully vaccinated, or tested negative in the past 72 hours. It's becoming necessary for things like haircuts, social gatherings, etc. Probably will become more prevalent, and EU-wide.

Sorry Dave I was been sarcastic, not that I like them , just I have a couple of pictures on me .

It's interesting to compare how the countries react. We had 954 new infections yesterday (total population 5.8 million) and that figure has been around 1,000 for weeks. But the government appears OK with it as long as the hospitalizations are manageable - and they are.
22% are fully vaccinated, 38% have had their first shot (me included).

Think how Australia would be re-acting with figures like that. And Denmark is opening up! I went to a family Christening recently with about 50-odd people there. Hadn't seen the wife's family for almost a year (four hour drive away). There had actually been three births in the family in that time. You needed a corona-passport to get in and had to wear a mask if you were not sitting down eating.

Lockdowns are happening on a regional basis.

Haha, didn't know you had tats. I don't like needles but don't really care, blood donor and give plasma so you're sitting there for almost an hour with a big needle in the arm. Mind you, when it came out once and blood went everywhere I did learn how you clean up a murder scene . . .

Looks like you're out of lockdown tomorrow, let's hope Melbourne is the same in a week and we can all get to the footy.

FFS. Two ”false positives“ now, the main reason for extension.

Three cases today, two kids of a known case and the 89 year aged care resident we knew about.

This super contagious beast doesn‘t seem to be much different to last year. If we get sub three tomorrow, this lockdown can’t last a day longer then scheduled.

No doubt Australia is observing what is happening elsewhere. Denmark had 26 deaths in the past month, but they're on the way down the mountain... It will be a journey here, not sure the public would be ready for a jump of 0 straight to 26.
