Coronavirus

Reading back on the source of infection. CCTV footage seems to indicate that transmission occurred when he, and a subsequently covid infected guy in the next room, both opened their hotel doors within 15sec of each other to take delivery of something.

It's scary if this strain can jump hosts that easily.
Agree that it is scary given the virus is now able to transmit by aerosol. Not to mention the added transmissibility of the new variants.
This is the most damning aspect of the Feds refusal to upgrade to suitable quarantine facilities.
The Feds keeps referring to last March as if nothing has changed with the virus & that hotel quarantine is still suitable & able to be managed by the states.
This stubborn, spineless, negligent approach has put all Australians at risk.

Hotel's can't stop this. Too many air vents, aircons, all sorts of things. It's worrying

Unfortunately the ole covid is really hurting kids' schooling in this state atm.
From someone who works in primary education, they are so far behind.

Apparently this was because both the Epping and Epping North Woolies print "Epping Woolworths" on the receipts. But they should have confirmed with the people who visited those stores.
Yeh, not good. Especially when the Vic team is perceived to be poor already. Mistakes like this don't help.

We started behind everyone else. Let's revisit in a couple of months.

You're getting antsy over nothing.
yeah not our fault we started behind everyone else. how were we to know we would need vaccines?

that graph also doesnt show how far we are behind other continents (not sure why we are using continents as a comparison rather than countries?- it is almost like it suits an agenda)

They don't call me angsty-ant for nothing Lee.

Here's an interesting question for you - why did we start behind everyone else?
Availability? Europe was reneging on or delaying their supply agreements, and we were busy making our own AZ as it's cheaper to produce.

All the experts said that coming up with a vaccine is one thing, but getting it mass-produced and distributed takes a while.

I could've posted an alternate chart from lefty favourite the NY Times which shows us quite a bit higher in the rankings, ahead of e.g. New Zealand, at more than 10% rather than the 2% frequently cited here.

It's ramping up and this outbreak will help it along.

Use this site and we can be #1 if you select the right countries.

Here's the Times chart. Ahead of New Zealand, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan. 13% - high fives all round!

As mentioned, the woolies receipts were wrong. Both the Epping and Epping North stores say "Epping Woolworths".
and Epping Woolworths was across the road from another site that was visited. You can see how it happened.

and I suppose the only outcome, is two really clean woolies in Epping?

hardly a disaster.
