Coronavirus

They identified and deep cleaned the wrong woolworths when the first case was identified. says quite a bit about our contact tracing.

Apparently this was because both the Epping and Epping North Woolies print "Epping Woolworths" on the receipts. But they should have confirmed with the people who visited those stores.

On the surface appears logical but shouldn't you only look at the density of population where the virus was active/transmitted? eg density in the cities?
Not too many cases in outback NSW or QLD.

yeah I agree.

We're heading for #1 with a bullet after starting off scratch.

That's good news if it means vaccination rates are picking up.

They look like they're missing a bit of data for us though. Straight line from mid-March...

The image you posted is very misleading. Excludes countries and aggregates continents. If you look at a range of countries vs Australia, we are doing really shyte.

Tried to ring to get a vac, 22 calls to the hotline over three hours, all call failed, couldn’t get through.
Ring your GP mate. That's what I did. No fuss; sorted in 30 seconds.

That said I'm getting AZ which I would imagine is more readily available with GPs. Not sure about Pfizer if that's what you need.

Mate we're above Bangladesh and not that far behind Romania. What more do you want?

Sheesh some people are never satisfied.

So over 40's can get vaccinated now but per the complete fck up that this roll out has been, the eligibility checker that allows you to then search for GP providers hasn't been updated.

You can put in an age of 50+ and it will work, but given that under 50's are being recommended to receive the Pfizer vaccine, you can't see what Pfizer GPs exist for bookings. The best you can do is try and do a walk up at one of the en masse centres which are now totally overwhelmed.

I don't think those 40-49 can get vaccinated at the GP. Only at state controlled facilities.

I hate when Uzbekistan beat us.

Both those Seychellians really should be very proud of their worlds best practice epidemiology.

Like it or not, we are an overfed bunch of upside down hillbillies
Nah mate Uzbekistan is a powerhouse.

As for the Seychelles I read an article that said they've mostly had the Sinopharm Chinese vaccine and it's rubbish. 71% of their population have had one dose and 62% fully vaccinated. But COVID is surging again because of the *smile* vaccine. But at least they are having a crack.

Agree. And disagree.

He came out of quarantine negative. So the proper quarantine point is not entirely right.

The way i see it, we should assess the new variants if people require to stay longer in quarantine. Eg maybe 16 or 18 days.

My earlier point. SA only contact him. No alert to any other passengers on that flight. Pathetic attitude. Put Vic in a terrible spot as they were no aware of what happened.
Useless. They shouldve call immediately and informed the airline, Vic govt and test every1. I know they tried to contact every1 on that flight 2 days layer but too late .

Vic govt right to blame SA.

Get the angst with Fed quarantine facilities. Agree shouldve have been done sooner. Useless too. Was mentioned in press conf Vic & Feds in talks.

This *smile* virus is bad. Earlier this year my son in laws uncle succumb tobit overseas within a week! Sth African variant

Even if we leave people in quarantine for longer, if they catch it in quarantine on one of their last days that doesn't help.

Not easy to solve without proper quarantine facilities.

That's really problematic as they are clearly trying to contact trace using some evidence and not just the say so of the person being questioned. You ask for evidence and it is misleading you are in real trouble.

Very hard.

People getting vaccinated is more of a solution

yes, physical evidence should be combined with interviews. I assume that they do this but for some reason stuffed this example up.

Dunno about that. When they moved to over 50’s the search engine produced an abundance of GP’s to book a vaccination through.

Certain GP’s have Pfizer supplies.

If you’re prepared to get AZ there’s plenty of GP’s you can book into.

Fourth best continent given our population, advantages and wealth means we are even more sh1t than I thought. Our vax supply is a disaster.

Yep, 4th best and we're the island continent, a distinct advantage, and a long way from most of the world's population.

This is one pig that lipstick can't save.
