Coronavirus

why would they want to get rid of their most successfully leader in recent memory?
Also, evidence? haven't heard any of the backbenchers breaking ranks yet.

Not saying Labor wants to lose power or that everyone wants him gine, but just because he's "successful" doesn't mean he's liked. Some of the left-wing factions are a long way apart these days.

There's been the odd story about insurrection in the dailies. Then there was the leaked roadmap. These things would never have happened pre-COVID. Dan is teetering a little.

Article in the HS today (OK it's only McCrann): "Who should replace incompetent Andrews in top job"

Tell it to both sides. Would be a better way to work at all times. The initial days of the National cabinet saw all sorts of collaboration between usually warring adversaries. We need more of it but it takes two to tango.

Tell that to the Liberal Party. At a state level all they do is criticise. They haven’t offered anything constructive. Tim Smith especially has made a tool of himself on numerous occasions. At a federal level, the treasurer and health minister (both from Victoria) just criticise. As much as I despise Morrison, at least he has come across as more of a team player (at least on an outward level).

Its more desperate hope from the Mudoch Media. Those "rumours" have come from them.

Anyone who thinks Andrews is going or Labor intends on to dumping him, needs to ask one simple question... Who is a viable alternative? Its not as if Labor have been grooming a replacement. And the VIC Liberals are a shambles who will need a miracle just to win ebough seats in 2022 to give them a shot in 2026.

Greg Hunt seems to me to be very frustrated with Victoria. Australia’s CHO and Victoria’s CHO seemed to be on different pages early on and this has not helped. Greg Hunt has been facing the media and states that he has been repeatedly offering help. While we hear nothing from Jenny Mikakos. Dan Andrews has effectively sidelined her. So he either thinks she is incompetent or he is sidelining Jenny Mikakos for political gain as she would be unpopular with the electorate.

7 of the WA nurses who went over to Vic now in quarantine with one testing positive. In their words they were "thrown" into one of the Aged Care facilities, the state government had taken over, with completely inadequate PPE.
WA Government now looking to send a medivac for them.

Everyone wants an effective vaccine but the Feds selling hope yesterday, by spruiking a future vaccine (that may not eventuate) as a means of heaping pressure on the Victorian Government right now to open up faster, deserved to be called out.
Guarantee won't hear a word about it today after the stage 3 trials were halted. Karma.

Why were the trials halted TOO?

The way various international Governments/Pharmas are carrying on about when a vaccine will be available when they obviously have no idea is just another indication of how COVID-19 has been politicized.

Unexplained illness to one of the trial particiants apparently.
Apparently quite serious as well.
A suspected “serious adverse reaction” means the participant may require hospitalisation. It could result in a life-threatening illness or even death.

Correct. Good time to remind people that there's never been a successful coronavirus vaccine developed.

On contact tracing Deputy CMO Nick Coatsworth said today that Victoria's current contact tracing is as good as can be expected with the number of cases we have, which aligns with Andrews previous statements about the contact tracing meeting the KPIs.

Oh no you've got it all wrong Mr G, its clearly the fault of Dan Andrews personally.
Anyone saying otherwise is just another raging leftie.

Good to see the PRE faction of the ALP get around Sargeant Schulz.

Working OT defending, absolving and deflecting.
