Coronavirus

Can't defend the Vic ALP govt here Ian. Clearly complicit and still have the power to prevent him entering the state.

What role have the VIC ALP govt played in him getting an exemption? And if they prevent him entering the state its probably something of a legal minefield.

Pinning this on Andrews in what was a Tennis Australia decision made by an independent medical panel following ATAGI guidelines is bizarre, but I've seen worse in this thread I guess. I'd give them a bit of time to react.

There's still plenty of time for VicGov to overrule this decision and I hope they do.

Won't matter. Whilst everyone can agree Scomo is a muppett any criticism of Dan is quickly shot down.

Ever since Dan tweeted ZERO cases things have gone to *smile*.

The VIC government can stop Novak coming. They won't though. Unless a poll overwhelming say they should and then they might act.

unbelievable the attitude and arrogance of people out there
51% of australians over 18 thought scott morrison would be the best man to lead our nation.

So ive lowered my expectations of australians significantly.

Every 10 non-richmond people i meet, i expect 5 to be self interested or pretty stupid

being pleasantly surprised is heaps easier on the soul than being bitterly dissapointed

Like Leysy I possibly got my Covid at the Cricket , though I was also in the golf clubs bar at the same time as a positive person. Funny enough the day I felt a bit sick ( man flu) i also received text saying I can get my booster. Tested Saturday , positive result Monday , for me it’s been nothing major and shows the vax is working .

However considering that like everyone else I’m unable to work and have to isolate , I think it’s bull *smile* that a non vaxer can come into our country wether it be for work or leisure or in Djokovics case both.

Im certainly not a highly educated individual, however isn’t it just common sense that you minimise the risk of flaring it up again or bringing in a new strain .

Worked on the door as a “ Covid security “ recently, unbelievable the attitude and arrogance of people out there
Selfishly I hope you caught it at the Golf Club and NOT the cricket because I were sitting with you at a table in the London after the cricket.

My nephew tested positive today and is in a household of 5 so they will all be isolating for the next 7 days at least and probably expecting it to run through them. Were due to go over to their place for my mum's 88th birthday so dodged a bullet there.

Long term there is no way of avoiding it unfortunately.

If you knew there was NO chance of re-infection after contracting it I almost feel now would be the ideal time for me to get it as it is 3 weeks post my Booster so I should be at the peak of my powers?

I am in no rush to test this theory though.

It's gone against everything the Vic State Gov has said in recent weeks. What changed & why?
Looks ridiculous & the pressure will come. They have explaining to do.

I agree they have made a rod for their backs with their previous pronouncements on this. Looks ridiculous now.

Me too.

I'm pretty moderate on these things but this decision has really tipped me over the edge. My thinking now is stick your masks and check-ins and isolation and everything else and I'll do whatever I want.

And that's the point, it's a decision made by Tennis Australia. If the state government knows what's good for them they will overrule it.

been like this for a while. Double standards obvious. Not a health issue any more.

Waiting for the outcry when Dan announces the next snap lock down upon his return. The vaxxed can join the unvaxxed in the protests like what's been happening throughout Europe and not reported by the media.

IMO they won't overule it because they're *smile* frightened of losing the tournament to somewhere in Asia. ... or worse than that. .... Sydney!

The tail wags the dog in tennis and unfortunately the biggest Dog of all, in more ways than one is the world No1.

When he serves. ....... #cough4novax

If they let jokovitch, or any unvaccinated player, play,

In the context of everything Melbourne has been through and is going through,

I personally think that reaction should stand up to moral, philosophical and legal scrutiny.

It would be a mary antoinette let them eat cake moment.

And that didnt end well.

Novax jokoavitch :ROFLMAO:

Australian players would be praying to draw him

For the chance to write themselves into australian folklore

I imagine it would be a cathy freeman 2000 400m final moment.

He can play due to his *smile* exemption, but is it play, train, locked in hotel room for the rest of the time? I certainly hope so, and I hope he gets booed loud and long the entire time he’s here. I never liked him before all this, over the past couple of years my contempt for the bloke has reached new levels.

I don't watch tennis, but ever since Novax had those Covid spreading parties in Europe last year I've always felt he's a *smile*.

When even Nick Kyrgios thinks your moral compass is screwed then you have to know it’s way out of whack.
