Coronavirus

Because he's a *smile*?
yeah he is. This is in keeping with his career-long tendency to feign an injury when his opponent wins a set and gets on top, then miraculously recover.

I don't expect any different from Djokivic, Its all about him and he has a hide like a rhinocerous and he's now added ant-vax far right nut job to the mix. I do expect more from the Vic government and tennis aus, very disappointing.

Feeling has been creeping for a while but is it time to remove vax certificates in the wake of this inconsistent Djoke?
Given Omicron seems to be transmissible between the vaccinated as well as the unvaccinated then the greatest risk is to the unvaccinated.
I’ve been over the QR check in for some time as contact tracing is unable to keep up. Now vax certification seems unnecessary too as anti-Vaxer’s pose the greatest risk to themselves if they chose to head out. It all seems a bit redundant now.
Just posing the question..when is the time to move on from digital check ins??

Exemptions
Acute illness or likely to require urgent surgery
Previous severe reaction to a covid vax
Recent proven covid infection in the last six months
Mental health disorder where self harm or similar likely

So the only possible one is recent infection in the last six months. .
He was infected in the first half of last year..so 8 months minimum.

Can only assume some one has certified that he was reinfected more recently.. possible .

Decision made by team of medics blind to who is applying.
Legally correct but morally bankrupt decision.
Having been reinfected recently isn’t a bad bet. Rafa’s just recovered from it. Shapovalov has as well.

Not sure why everyone is upset at Novak. He's not the one applying the double standard rules.

because he's likely for a compliant doctor to give him a record of a recent Covid infection to get around the rules.

He's a piece of crap who thinks rules don't apply to him because he can hit a tennis ball.

So now you don't have to confirm a positive RAT test with a PCR test just isolate, more positive cases that won't appear in official figures.

Elective surgery done and dusted too in VIC.

I am fine with this.
The number of infected people no longer matters. It is a nation wide pandemic. We will all get it.
No need to PCR everyone.
If symptoms.. do a RAT . If positive..isolate you and immediate family. That's it. Nothing else needed.
I know the test is hard to get at the moment..for now...assume positive if no test available.

We just need to manage like a nasty flu if vaccinated and isolate till better symptomatically.
If unvaccinated, well you are a fool and will likely need hospital care .

I know this is something of a simplification but just now it makes sense.

The Covid is real close to us,

and we are finding that

flushing $10 down the dunny, and tossing a coin,

is as accurate as Rapid Antigen tests (n=10),

but saves you $5.

I also reckon West Coast and Fremantle should be expelled to the WAFL,

and the licences given to Tasmania and NT.

Let's face it, the real issue is the unvaccinated. They are more likely to catch it, more likely to spread it, more likely to use scarce hospital resources etc.

Time to go with the French, Macron has said the following:

“In a democracy, the worst enemies are lies and stupidity,” Macron said. “We are putting pressure on the unvaccinated by limiting, as much as possible, their access to activities in social life.”

“we have to tell them: from 15 January, you will no longer be able to go to the restaurant. You will no longer be able to go for a coffee, you will no longer be able to go to the theatre. You will no longer be able to go to the cinema.”

And possibly the most confrontational comment:

“I am not about pissing off the French people,” the president said in an interview with readers of Le Parisien daily on Tuesday. “But as for the non-vaccinated, I really want to *smile* them off. And we will continue to do this, to the end. This is the strategy.”

Go for it Macron, the unvaccinated can put up with the impact of their actions. Also nice to see a leader leading.

PS.. some variations ie visiting aged care rels or sick patients in hospital...and going to WA.
Agree. If you're not feeling well stay home in bed like we used to do before covid.

I totally disagree with this take. The vaccinated can now spread this omicron virus almost as easily & it's getting around vaccines.
Where does the division stop? Special treatment for one jab? Two jabs? 3 jabs? 5 jabs?
I don't like society being divided like this one bit.

Yep can't blame the unvaxxed for spreading it unless they all snuck into the cricket somehow. Maybe the boostered will start blaming the double jabbed now.

We can blame the unvaxxed for being more likely to spread the virus and for being more likely to end up in hospital. Non-urgent elective surgery has now been cancelled and the unvaxxed are more to blame for this than those who are vaccinated because they are more likely to end up using hospital beds if (when) they get infected.

It is their choice not to be vaccinated, and that choice has impacts on other people. Their actions have impacts, and they need to be responsible for those impacts.
