It looks like there are fifteen guys coming out of contract

Guys like grigg hunt and grimes play every week and would be required.

Lennon newman and lloyd all played in the win against the Hawks and you don't have weak links in a team that beats hawthorn. I'm pretty sure gordon played in the win against the Swans.
We need lennon's signature STAT.

Petterd Knights foley: injuries have wiped them out but they are all AFL quality.

Dea (0), Mcdonough (2) just can't crack a game but the feedback from VFL level is pretty positive.

Rookies

Lambert just played against the Hawks and has been improving every week. He's a cert to be a senior player next year.
Arnott (1 game) -can't break into the side but the vfl feedback has been very good. He was Cayden player of the day a couple of weeks ago.
Thomas: impresses at VFL level every week but can't crack a spot in the team at the moment.

With the draft not going deep I see us grabbing a free agent, getting a kid from GWS with our first pick and drafting a couple of kids (or state league players )who have fallen down the draft order.
We can still trade contracted players of course.
I'd like to hang onto the older rookies we've got.

Who goes/stays might depend on the medical advice for knights foley and Petterd.
Newy might decide he wants to keep playing while the premiership window is open.
And it is definitely open.

No question on that.
There's a great balance between established quality competitive players and young development kids.
From here on, we need to turn over older guys who aren't getting games, drafting new kids on a needs basis, and getting in a player either as a free agent or trade.

You'd have to think Foley and Newman and Thomas are done. Knights more than likely. Petterd unlikley one would think. Arnott gone for sure. Dea hasn't been given any opportunities and been on the list for 6 years. McDonough could get a chance elsewhere since the Tiges wont give him any. Not sure we can keep both Lloyd and Gordon, one will surely go.

This is the year we go for a gun signing isn't it? Will be an interesting recruitment year.
