Contract List

I'm not sure we'd turn over that many players with the supposed weak draft. I think Lloyd and McDonough may be retained for depth, with 6 coming off the main list.
IMHO we will trade in players an picks will go out plus I have a feel will be hitting the state leagues.

Can't see Mcdounogh staying after not getting a go....Lloyd an Gordon may stay thou I wouldn't waste anymore time with them....of the others I see no point at all in keeping, even Knights who can certainly play is too big of risk , unless the last rookie spot after getting thru the rest of this season. I'd be backing the kids already on the list an the trade period to bolster the list

The bottom third of the list are rotten to the core, delist them all and forget about bloody sentimental lifelines.

Cant argue with that, our depth is poor.

With the retirement of Foley & Newy, it means our next oldest players are:
Maric: 30 in Jan 2016.
Chaplain: 30 before start of next season.
Knights: 30 at the end of next season.
Deledio: 29 in April 2016.
The list age seems in good shape.

You'd reckon we are hunting either signatures or trades from Grigg and grimes
Lennon would be a priority.
If Lloyd keeps goaling it might make it hard for Mcdonough. That's an IF.
Knights will be an interesting call.
Dea and Petterd can't have a happy ending can it?

I guess we need to lose one more player to go to the draft.
That's the rules.

And that's after trading and free agency.

*smile*. Deledio is 28?

Oh man.

Gordon surely goes as well. No way Grimes would be traded, expect a 3 year deal for him.

Haha. Thank you but you're carrying my fat arse, mate. Beaut work. This thread is one of the things PRE is best at.

There'll be few changes this year. We won't be going deep into a shallow draft. Rookie upgrades count towards the 3 compulsory drafts these days (from memory).

Lambert and Castagna will be added to the main list you'd think. So that cancels out the retirements of Foley and Old Balls.

At a guess you'd think we might add a free agent and trade for another player (so 2 in total). So in real terms we may only have to delist another two names (or 3 if we only take one live pick in the draft) and may only take one live pick in the draft. Not saying that is what I would do but don't be surprised if we do something like that. This is assuming we don't trade anyone out.

So if you only got to delist 3 more names aside from Foley and Newman, who would they be?

if it's just 3? Knights, Petterd, Gordon. Then Arnott, Dea, Thomas. And Hampson! Yeah I know he's contracted but.....

Arnott and Thomas will free up two rookie spots for Knights and Petterd to be demoted to the rookie list. :hihi

Do you reckon Knights will go on?

I reckon he will retire because of injury. ???

Possibly

But the guy is has just so much talent and ability.
Let's see what he can get done in the next seven weeks.
I would love to see him in a richmond jumper next year, even if he's just like thomas on the rookie list.

Suspect pick up from the start. Has a great 09 season but ever since been injured.
Can't see why you would keep him.
