Contract List

Does anyone know if any of our free-agents Griffiths Conca grimes Grigg or houli are unrestricted?

According to footywire they're restricted
https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/out_of_contract_players?year=2018

Not many interesting free agents at other clubs. Some good players but without many years left.
Lynch at gold coast would be our target (i'm confident he can bring in premierships 13 and 14)
Then there's Sloane, McKenzie & McGovern
can see too much movement for the rest

We should be all in for Tom Lynch, He really could be the difference between getting number 12 or not.

we have number 12 lined up for this, while Jack is still strong
we need Lynch for the next 3
its crazy Easy talk but you know it makes sense

Given the competition to get lynch, what do you think he will cost? 1.2m for 5-6 years?

The only club that i can think of that wouldn't need him might be Melbourne and Essendon, maybe north but they would go after anything. You would think doggies and maybe tigers couldn't afford it (given boyd and dusty contracts). Pies, saints, hawks, north, cats even swans would all have a crack

Cant see us being able to afford lynch.think our drafting last year supports that. Unless he wants to come to the tigers for less $$$ than he is worth.

You watch the VFL GF and our 2016 season?

Love your positivity on this board however i cannot agree, the Hammer is our biggest list clogger and i am sure Balme will correct this come years end, i would be staggered if he gets a contract or in anyone offers him a lifeline!

Have to say I disagree. He had his best season in his career in 2016 and very likely would have played in the senior team in September (along side the Nank) when you factor in our height issues. I think he's very much needed in 2018.

I think our drafting last year absolutely supports getting Lynch

Jack has 3-4 years left
Tom Lynch will be 26 'If we get him' and would have 6-7 years left

Jack & Tom for 3/4 years
Tom & 1 of Noah/CJ/Miller for the following 3/4 years

Either Balta or Miller could also be used down back

Shaun Hampson , Ben Griffiths , Anthony Miles , Sam Lloyd , Reece Conca could all be moved on next year or retired and replaced by new draftee's
there would have to be atleast 700-800k savings by moving them on

We are no hope in hell of getting Lynch & neither is anyone else for that matter. The AFL will throw every $$$ "ambassador" dollar they can find at him to keep him at the Suns. Big year ahead for the AFL integrity Dept. trying to justify this one as well, given it's an AFL subsidised Club & his contract alone will be being paid out by AFL $$$.

If soldo has a good year and we get lynch we can justify not renewing contracts for hammer and Griffiths.

Note: all players with contracts for next year and beyond are premiership players, and our most recent draftees.

Premiership players still waiting on extensions are Grigg Bacha Towner and Broady.

C Ellis is going to have to have a good year if he wants another contract.

I have faith, but must make every appearance a winner this season.

Didn't Towner just get a one year extension at the end of 2017? Kid was on the ropes n copping a standing eight count early last year.
Wonderful performance from him when the opening was presented to him late in the year has seen him given another year. Still needs to consolidate and build a career platform this year, if he manages to keep up the level of performance he'll earn a couple of year extension at seasons end.
