Towner was as important as any player in the side with the defensive role he played on the intercept markers. We were so much better after he came into the side. Thought he might have got a two year contract, as i'm not sure who else could have played that role or who can play that role.

Agree. Think Towner has a bit to prove yet in spite of his brilliant end to the season.

A few weeks before he exploded he was facing the axe. He's done well to get a new deal & now has further opportunity.

pretty hard to justify a 2 year deal based on 5 games I would have thought.

There may be an option trigger depending on number of games etc. If so, that makes a lot of sense. Old school Richmond would have looked at his last 5 weeks and given him a 5 year deal.

Wouldnt suprise me if Richmond have 21 players getting less than $200k and another 7-8 players that will come in this draft period also on min salary. - So that will be nearly 30 players getting around $4,000,000 of the salary cap total of $12,450,000

And i'd imagine the negotiations for the other players would be :
