Connors. Edwards, JR, they all look the goods, but I have seen other kids look good and then go off the rails. The question is how to keep these kids improving and stop them from being infected with the cancer that seems to hit any kid who pulls on the famous yellow and black.

All we need is Collins and Peterson to show a bit and last years draft is looking like a ripper for us.

Hope that's not a fluke. Francis Jackson might end up being the most important recruit in the last 25 years.
If that happens and last years draft wasn't a fluke then Jackson will have even more to work with this year and the first step on what will be a very long road will have been taken.

Re: Conners

Looked very good for mine, liked the way he took on Hall. Will probably succumb to Richmond mediocrity over the next 12 months.

Re: Conners

Was quite happy with DC's debut, at least when he had the ball he looked for a teammate & mainly hit his target.
A lot of posters on here want these young blokes to be given a go & when they get a game they aren't happy. "will succumb to mediocrity" etc. If you want to be negative do it to the guys who deserve it, not a kid in his first game.
I liked the fact that he stood up to Hall & others, it's about Bl**@y time someone did. It was good to see that sort of aggression from a Tigers player. Hall & the likes for too long have been able to push our player around with immunity.

Re: Conners

for a while Connrs was standing Everitt who pushed down to the goal square. Simmonds stood 20m off and didnt pick anyone up, leaving Connors on Spida. Connors was waving the arms trying to point out a height deficiency and Bowden dropped back and swapped.

Re: Conners

SHowed enough to suggest that there is a genuine footballer to work with.

At times got caught out with the step up from VFL but at other times looked right at home.

Need to play out the rest of the year.

Re: Conners

All round good first up effort - has some aggro and not afraid to mix it up.

Will be better when he adjusts to the higher intensity of AFL footy.

Good debut well done son.

Re: Conners

Have to be happy with Dan,couple of times as he had the ball you could just see him trying to find a target up field but 1 our lack of movment an 2 Sydney's style of pushing 22 players behind the ball make it very hard.

Re: Conners

Must admit, I was a touch seedy this morning. :-X

Had a nice chat to my boy over the weekend, was good to get his real opinion of you CC.

He'd never heard of you.....

Nice prospect....liked the look of him at under 18s level and in time will be a very nice player...like to see casserly join him now.

if Casserly joins, its 2005 draft 2 players in team, 2 injured & 1 unknown, 2006 draft 2 players in team & 1 waiting to develop further, 2007 draft 3 players in. Next year these players will make up half a team.
