If we were that excited by him why did we not draft him earlier?
We only had 2 picks before him...are you not happy with what Jack an Eddie have shown?

How good is it having 3 1st year players in the same side tonight!! :clap :clap

No not at all CC, just wondering if he was so highly rated, especially by us why he went so late. Other clubs certainly weren't in a hurry to get him. Didn't realise we only had the two picks before him.

As has been stated, last years drafting, without the benefit of hindsight yet, could be the best ever.

Its certainly looking like it.

Leading up to the pick that we took Connors with the general discussion on the table was who is the best player left an all selectors said Connors is by a mile, the normal attitude ,bad draft camp results were the reason for his slipping in the draft, our team rated him very high an was on the same line as Edwards an Tippet for our second pick ,Edwards was also very close to been selected with our first pick as was Hislop

The out could be half the list JB,the in could well be Carl ,he is very keen to debut in Perth an I have heard the coaches may just grant him that wish, and of course Casserly will debut very very soon .

Good thing with these kids who are coming on is that they can play, unlike guys who give there all like Hyde,White an co who you just keep hoping will improve these guys have genuine talent an SKILL

At Club80 the other night, Karl looked quite disappointed that he wouldn't be playing seniors this weekend and gave every indication that he has been pencilled in for the Perth trip, form allowing.

Re: Conners

So next week could have Edwards, Riewoldt, Connors, Casserly, Carl, Hughes, JON (all form dependant)
Anyone i've missed?
Not bad from the last two drafts

If they are ready stick them all in for the rest of the year

IMHO most definatley, excellent reflex's,strong over the ball, very clean hands an second to none awarness.

Collins will be a very good inside midfielder without doubt

Oooooooooooo geeez CC, ya give me those goosebumps when you talk that way.

I wish the same too.

Connors too?
Good we need two inside mids. ;) ;D

Re: Conners

Though he had a solid debut, 13 possessions and showed a desire to run and carry. Couple of errors eher and there but he'll get there, was also nice to see a little aggro in defence of his captain as he stood up to Barry Hall. Nice first game from DC :)

30,000 members JB I'd say job well done ;)

well I was going to join anyway, and I will next year too but I'll be more careful about believing you when you write in Jan how much JON's disposal has improved.

Re: Conners

looked calm and composed on occasions and then typical connors on other occasions

you might be able to handle in front of yourself kb style at coburg but doing it in defensive 50 in the middle of 2 swans players your asking for a belting

he will learn though

Re: Conners

Connors. Edwards, JR, they all look the goods, but I have seen other kids look good and then go off the rails. The question is how to keep these kids improving and stop them from being infected with the cancer that seems to hit any kid who pulls on the famous yellow and black.

All we need is Collins and Peterson to show a bit and last years draft is looking like a ripper for us.

Hope that's not a fluke. Francis Jackson might end up being the most important recruit in the last 25 years.
