the new cult hero at richmond. already is on PRE i think :clap

:hihi Stories like that Barry Hall incident are what legends are made from. Don't want to put too much pressure on the boy though.

Perhaps he can rough up Brad Ottens a bit this week. I reckon Brad would cry! :'(

Re: Conners

I expect 'Chuck' to play this week, the only thing that bothers me is his temper. He will be intimidated by the Cats, I hope he focuses on his opponent, the game plan, and does the team thing.

What was most disappointing about this incident was that it was left up to our 1st gamer to remonstrate alone against Hall - pretty pathetic from more senior members in the team.

Yep I suppose you could look at it like that, personally I didn't. He's a pretty hot headed guy by all accounts, not everyone is like that. Sounds more like he made a poor choice before fully assessing the situation. But if you want to have a crack at the rest of the team go right ahead, seems like a good excuse.

king, white , connors are the only players to show some balls in games lately

the senior players are a joke and i dont need an excuse to bag them because we can all see it clearly

There's a funny quote from Connors on the official site.

http://richmondfc.com.au/Season2007/News/NewsArticle/tabid/6301/Default.aspx?newsId=48444

In the second quarter, Connors’ heart had to deal with yet another nerve-racking experience when he failed to look at the number on his opponent’s jumper before launching a physical attack in a bid to fly the team’s flag.

“I ran into Barry Hall. I nearly broke my collarbone he was that hard,” he said.

“It was too late to try to back out, as I was too close to him. So, I ended up remonstrating with him a little bit.

I sort of regretted it afterwards because for the rest of the night he was breathing down my neck, looking for me. He is a very scary man on the field.”

You idiot :hihi

Well done Dan.

I thought it was amusing that Raines gave him a spray for a poor kick. If that's the club protocol for every time a player has a poor possession, then Raines must cop a couple each quarter. ;D

Yeah,I had a bit of a laugh at that too.Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

With chuck's report in the vfl, does that mean he's ineligible to win the bronlow ?

Yeah,I had a bit of a laugh at that too.Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

Raines should have his behind ripped to shreds for giving a first gamer a spray like that, espically when he is a turnover merchant of the highest order. Making it so public was really poor and a reflection that the group chemistry is not that flash.

Too me that is something that almost warrants a run at Coburg.

Bit over the top I reckon Pooper!

The transcript says -

“Oh, it was a shocker,” Connors said. “I kicked it to ‘Rainsey’ and it sat right up for him and Adam Goodes almost took his head off.”

“He said to me, ‘Hey, can you try not to do that to me too many more times’.”

Much much worse than that gets said on a footy field, even to a 1st gamer from a turnover merchant.

C'mon GPB, surely we've been crying out for a bit of temper? I hope he does bop someone this week and gets a week or two. Preferably young Selwood. Time to let people (and some of his immediate colleagues!) there’s a new breed of kid down at Tigerland and things are going to change.

Love where your head's at Elmer

Was good today CC no doubt and with the entry of Casserly and Edwards, Foley things look a little better in the midfield for the coming seasons.

With Cotchin likely at #2 a better looking midfield is slowly emerging.

Connors, Foley and Thursfield led the way today and should all be applauded.
