Connors

Should have accepted pick #106 for him rather than keep him on the list. I'm not sure why we would keep a player on the list that's stated they don't want to be at the club.

And you can add McGuane to that list too.

We are a club that needs as many things going right as possible. Having a player or 2 every season with personal issues is a joke. As KB often says, the club/coaches end up spending too much time with these guys whilst ignoring the good players who they should be spending time with.

Now not knowing what his issues are, some tough love may be in order. Train hard and commit and we will help you otherwise hand in your resignation this afternoon.

But this stuff only happens to kids from remote indigineous communities doesn't it? Isn't that why we should steer clear of anyone born north of the Alice? Guys from remote communities who struggle to adjust to the demands of fulltime football like Morton, Gourdis and Connors? :sarcasm

It would seem a bit hasty to write a guy off due to a fairly bland tweet. Could be so many reasons why he can't be there.

I totally agree with Ghost, we need everyone on board going in the same direction.
others have written "we dont know the problem, "we dont know what his dealing with: etc,
but it is always excuses.
the club has spent big bucks going to the US to bring the group closer and to miss it because of another "personnel" issue isn't good enough.

So if a close relative or friend of his died or was badly injured in an accident you think he should still go?

of course not disco but if it was grog related then bye bye.

he wouldnt fit our current recrutiing mantra he would fail at least one of them.

Of course not.

But with Connors' past, its natural to assume it's more to do with his application and dedication.

I think it's also natural to assume if his dedication and/or application was in question he wouldn't be on the list.

Good post. Throw in Vardy and Cuz as wayward blackfellas.

Dunno what Conners personal issues are, but he ain't up to AFL footy.

He had a great year in AFL footy (for a 21 year old anyway) last year and missed most of this year with an injury that's notoriously hard to get over. Why the condemnation?

Unfortunately you need another club to offer you that pick #106 to get them off your books when they are contracted.

Not sure about condemnation but Connors has been at the RFC for 5 years now, for only one good year.
Not a great year but a good year, 2010.

Much of it, from my understanding, has been self-inflicted.
The ball should be most definitely in Mr Connors' court in 2012.

Yeah, I know. Shame he failed his medical with the Crows (or was it Port).

Yeah showed a bit last year. I didn't think it was as good as some but anyway. This year reverted to type. The thing I really dislike about him is his play reflects where the momentum of the side is at any particular time. If we are playing well, he can look good. If we are playing poorly, he is terrible. Lazy. Goes into a contest when he's outnumbered as if he already knows he won't win it or isn't expected to. For me his talent is overrated and he lacks desire.
