Connors

just saw him training in the gym, looking very strong. doing lots of leg rehab work in between power and Olympic lifts.

Well there is no room for him in the backline as we now have better players there.
There is a forward spot for him if he is fit and gets fair dinkum. I can't see it happening though.

an equally important factor of being a forward this year is you must have a defensive game as well as a knack for kicking goals. Both of which Connors has niether IMO.

[Vizard Hinch impression]I've said it before and I'll say it again[/Vizard Hinch impression] - Connors should replace *smile* in the midfield.

You need to be fit to play in the midfield

exactly.. Connors needs to lift a lot more and get more consistancy into his effort and apllication to take on a role like that. he'd be such a good outside linkman if he could get into the side..

Has all the skills to play midfield, something Edwards lacks. That alone places him well ahead of both Calamity Shane and the bloke he should directly replace - Jackson - in my book.

The problem with Conners is that he thinks he is better then he is!
Watch the Carlton game, absolutely crap.
Needs a huge year next year otherwise there goes another one with alot talent and potenial.
I wouldn't mind seeing him to move forward, the best game he play for us was when played forward and slapped Hawthorn.
I hope he does become a regular in the side,
Maybe he got a head of himself,
Maybe we should bring back Cuz to have a quite word to him. ;D

Open your eyes Joe. Connors ain't that great a kick either and makes plenty of fundamental skill errors.
He's also slow, loses concentration and is pretty poor defensively but aside from that yeah he'd make a great midfielder. ::)

Mr Tiger, I couldn't agree anymore, his kicking isn't any where up to scratch.
In the last Qtr against Carlton he got holding the ball because he thought he had a week to get rid of it and his kicking in that game was shocking.
But I still reckon he can turn it around.
His far not the worst, there is something to work with.
He has been around for a while now, his chances must be close to gone and he needs to put in a extra good/injury free preseason and come out and show something!
Otherwise goodnight princess!

I agree. Too big a windup on his kick, ok if you've got plenty of time and out in the open (he still misses too many)
Not sure how that would translate to a fulltime midfield role. Got my doubts.

Agree. Don't understand the love for Connors.

Same boat as Edwards, make or break 2012.

Times up. Need to show something for a year.

The club's just tweeted that he has stayed at home and not gone to Arizona as he has some personal issues to deal with and that he will resume training with the club in due course.

I met Dan once at an Auskick clinic he was involved with in Perth.

He seemed like a nice fella, my son certainly thought he was pretty cool.

Things just don't seem to be going well for him at the moment.
