Connors

Or on the other hand - he had a good year last year (10th B&F) and was decimated by the notorious quad injury this year for next to no return. Selling now would seem to me the classic examle of selling low. If he were to return to anything like last year's form after he recovers from the injury his value can do nothing but improve.

don't think we'd be selling low. teams might look at 2010 and see potential. if he had another like this year we'd be selling rock bottom, zilch.

If he's fully fit the chances of him having a year this bad are virtually non-existent. If team's are willing to pay the premium that a 21 year old who's just come of his best year (including a good finish in his B&F) then by all means go for it.

if .... exactly.

Connors mays be sitting around telling stories in a few years saying, "if i was ............ "

for his sake i hope not. he's running out of time.

Given the holes on our list, Connors should be staying unless we get a really good offer for him.

I like his agression and reckon he is one of the few players we have who can play a variety of roles.

Just got to get fit and get his head down this preseason.

what i agree with is he should stay if we can't get a decent trade for him.

i wouldn't delist him. plenty of others to go before him.

Agree with this. It had want to be a good trade, wouldn't trade him just for the helluva it.

I reckon this is exactly what is happening. Tigre have deliberately leaked that he may be unhappy just to see if he generates any interest....

What's decent?

early 2nd round

player swap too hard to tell as it depends what other player is on offer etc. but maybe Mitch clark for Connors & 3rd rnd as an example. it must compliment our needs.

IMO we need to hold onto Connors, is much more value to us than a second round pick (what we'd probably get for him)

Just watching the game last year against Freo, Connors had 35 touches & three brownlow votes...he's still young & his 2011 was ruined purely by injury...not lack of effort or attitude

Unless we get offered something good for him I think he'll stay at the tiges

injuries, bad attitude, lack of a tank etc etc etc. its always something with the condog.

hes a very smart and talented footballer but not so smart off the field

trade

Pick 14 and Connors for pick 2 in the mini draft, that would be one of the few scenarios which would capitalise on his true market value.

Or pick 3 if they trade a 3rd off. I reckon GWS would prefer the compo to our 1st. Gives them future picks to balance out the age of their list. They can have McGuane and Jackson too.

Be happy with 3 as well, Kennedy looks a real terrier.

We won't get a pick that early for Connors.

He's a classic example of a player who is worth more to the club than what you'd receive on the open market (if he can get over his injuries and get out on the park consistently). Up to the club to make a call on that one.

Yep. Or Grundy. Or Stringer (dependent on broken leg) Didn't realise how big he was. 191cm/86kg Utility. Think we will end up with another gun with our 1st pick next year as well.

I'd take a 3rd or an upgrade of 3rd to 2nd. Or both if we could wing it for Connors. No chance he gets us in the mini-draft.

Agree, I think Dan deserves the benefit of the doubt given his injury plagued season. If Dan has requested a trade as Barrett has suggested then there may be an offer on the table, the problem being any potential suitors wouldn't want to give up too much based on his recent output.

I woudn't, I don't think there's sufficient value in such an upgrade. People seem to forget he averaged 23 touches a game in 2010, at the end of last season he would have attracted a mid 20's pick, to do a trade this year would be selling low.

Would u take a mid to late second round? I think we over-rate him. He played 6 or 7 good games. He missed half the season in 2010 did he not? Good thing with trading him is he's contracted so we can get what we want for him. Maybe another Tambling over's deal. North's 2nd pick would be a target. I just can't see him being a good enough player come finals time. Weak defensively. Up and down skills. Appears lazy.

14 games for 12th in the B&F is a pretty good result. Clearly the coaches like what he gives the team.

Played 14 games and also kicked goals, as I mentioned earlier, I would rather use him to trade for a guy like Crouch or Kennedy. As far as a second rounder is concerned, I would only do it if there was a smokey who FJ was dead keen on and who was a realistic proposition at pick 30 odd.

Don't get me wrong...i thought he was good last year. However, it really was only half a season. Despite what's being called a weak draft there are still some good prospects around. I just don't see him being the consistent player we need going forward.
