Averaged 24 possessions in 2010 including one game against fremantle when he got 35 possessions and 3 Brownlow votes .

If you are going to bag someone you may as well get your facts right
Exactly

Has been a big loss this year.

Have to agree.

Reckon he can a good player with the right guidance. In fact he was playing at a pretty decent level last year before tailing off later in the year. Very good at intercepting opposition kicks.

He's no Houli.

Different type. We need Connors playig the half forward role, pushing into the midfield. Dayne Beams like role.

Connors has something to offer the forward line.

Connors played HB last year and has said he thinks he plays his best football there. I think Bachar's playing a very similar role to Connors in 2010, only better this year.
Right now as I see it there's no room for Connors in the back 6 and he's excess to our needs. He'll either be trade bait or he'll need to reinvent himself in the role you're suggesting to be of use. It's all in front of him atm.

first it was Gentleman Moore, now Houdini Conners. Conners wont be around next year. Out all year with a leg/calf injury. yeah right!
will be traded if anyone is interetsed. Same with Moore, 28 and players already gone past him. Why keep him delist!
Batch, Grimes and Rance have them covered, lets get the next Basher Houli or Grigg and not wait for these two.

I want Connors to be playing a Stevie J type role next year. He won't fit in our HBF next year, but he is in our best 22.

Id be surprised if Connors is there next year. Doubt Moore is going anywhere though unless his injury is deemed career ending.

And Houli's kicking is way better than Connors' IMO. For someone with a reputation as a good kick, Connors has a bit of the McMahon's about him in that area.

12 months is a long time if footy. this time last year you would never have traded Connors for Houli. One more pre-season after his Stevie J epiphany and Connors was ready to explode on the scene. Unfortunately injury struck...

Like Houli, Connors has the tools of a proper footballer along with some weaknesses, but he should be persisted with. He is not a glass half full type, he is a glass 90% full type. In fact could be a gun.

Don't worry about his position, he is another to add to the midfield/half forward/half back rotation. Fingers crossed from me that he gets over the injury.

no way connors should go, a line breaker with pace, strength, good skills, could easily play wing , half forward in todays game :clap

yeah Connors must be a dud if he cant prove himself while injured - what's the matter with him???

Connors was playing some real good footy last year! Why on earth delist him? Sure, trade him is someone like mitch clark comes up,but I'd keep him! Plenty of room at coburg for quality players to fight for their place in the tigers!

I've always thought that with his flair and creativity, Connors is better suited to playing an offensive high-HFF/mid. He's got a great leap too.

Its the Morton, Farmer, Edwards, Nahas, Whitey, King types he's competing for places with, not Houli, Batchelor or anyone in the back 6. I'd say he and Morton have the most raw talent out of that group. Assuming he's managed to stay fit and focussed during the time off with injury, adding him to the 22 would raise the talent level.

If Connors could make himself a tackling machine, on top of the talent he already has, he'd be a great addition to the forward line.
Same could be said of Morton I suppose, and he does already get a few tackles to his name in some games, but he seems a bit more of a second to the ball type tackler than the hunt and kill type.

Agree. He's a poor man's Houli. I like the guy and wish him all the best but he's your typical Richmond player...has a good trait or two but lacks plenty...

Another trait of a typical Richmond player is that the more games he misses with injury, the better footballer he becomes. Amazing.
