Connors

Has never really done much for me and so I would be happy if he got traded for a decent pick.

This!

He has had plenty of chances (5 years on the list???) Trade or delist. Keep hearing about his awesome disposal but hasnt shown that at AFL level. Defensively poor and couldnt cement a spot in our forward line. Goes down with the likes of Meyer, Casserly, Roach, Gourdis etc as a player who got talked up on here by plenty but never delivered

According to Barrett he wants out.

I reckon he'll end up at the swans. They were really keen on him a year or so ago, I'd say they have been in his ear.

Don't really know what to think. I'd like him to stay and play HFF.

The boy needs greener pastures.

No loss IMO.

Agree Newie. Has been on the list for 5 years and shown little.
Even last year after his enforced club suspension I wasn't all that impressed.
Disposal is too sloppy and he's too lose defensively to be relied upon at HB going forward.
Doesn't appear his draft position was such a bargain in hindsight..

If he has another year like this year he will have no trade value at all next year.

Daniel Connors 2011 is sort of like Tambling 2010.

At the risk of making Baloo cry again - should be Jackson's immediate replacement in the midfield, massive skill upgrade in attack at the very least - sure he probably wouldn't be much of a tagger but contrary to popular belief, either is Jackson.

Who's fatter Connors or Jacko?

The issue this year with Connors was his calf and as i recall he was also injured in the pre season which is why he started round 1 as our first sub . He has had general fitness issues in the past but from memory he was fitter this year than ever before . I remember it was reported during the summer that he had smashed his best time around the tan by about a minute and that he was training with a couple of other guys , Cotchin and one other I think .

The point being that I don't think his issues this year were the lack of commitment to training and general fitness that may have been in the past . I was really looking forward to seeing if he could play consistent football this year when he was fit and had a decent pre season but we never got that chance .

He may end up like Krakouer for us if he leaves , playing great footy that we have never seen because it's the first time he is really fit . I understand perfectly the argument that he should go but unlike others who have left I think there is a chance we will regret it .

I am a fence sitter on this one .

Agree. He has talent and exactly the type of player who could come back to bite you. For the expected result in any trade given his injuries and offield incidents (crap pickin weak draft) I'd rather keep him because of the upside, especially after the improvement he showed in 2010. I think he can make the HFF role his own.

Also, not sure he'd ask for a trade, doesn't make any sense. Got games in 2010, injured all this year. Unless they've told him he's not required which is I guess is a possibility. Barratt likes to make things up.

If we can get a decent trade I would want to trade him. Does not appear to be a smart footballer.

If we can't trade him move him to a wing or HFF he could give us a bit if he is fit to do so.

time to get a trade, either for a player or pick, while we can.

the way i see it is i'd feel much worse if we held onto him for another year or 2, then delisted him for nothing, rather than try a targetted player via a trade or NDP. if he happens to do well at another club so be it. he has had more than enough chances to prove his form, fitness, and committment.

i can guarantee we've lost out more than won by holding onto players, then losng them for nothing, over the years.

be proactive and be bold Tigers!!!

Or on the other hand - he had a good year last year (10th B&F) and was decimated by the notorious quad injury this year for next to no return. Selling now would seem to me the classic examle of selling low. If he were to return to anything like last year's form after he recovers from the injury his value can do nothing but improve.
