Connors

FWIW on a amusing video on the RFC site Richo said that Dan was the equal strongest on the bench press at the club

= with Hislop at pressing 150kg

that's crazy. v impressive though, hopefully this improved strength will translate into improved on field performances

Another very poor game from Dan last night. Might make way next week.

I was 50/50 on Dans game last night, what I did like is his positioning, he knew where to be, his first half was better then the 2nd though.

Agree with some though, he needs to keep his feet a bit more.

Strong as an ox on the bench press. But looks very weak through the core.
His inability to shake those "half tackles" are causing big problems and making him look slow and causing turnovers in dangerous positions.

I think he will get a rest. He among others needs to lift.

Because of his weaknesses, he must moved from the backhalf. Due to his strenghts, he needs to be moved forward.

and they are?

he's not capable of applying forward pressure, he's not a good mark, very one sided and not the best kick for goal.

Maybe bobby. Mitch Morton's spot could be up for grabs.

Yep. Definitely. Can see it, but I have been thinking.

Questioning why the effort was made to make Mitch more midfield savvy then have him play only up forward though. Not really fair in my opinion. He did his bit, took minutes of his PB in the trial. Real head scrather. Think Morton in the midfield to add to the kicking class and run is what we could need. Morton to midfield, Connors up forward.

When has he proved he is any of those? Being very one sided hasn't stopped Buddy being the best forward in the game. I think he is capable of applying forward pressure, think his evasiveness and smarts will trouble defenders. His unpredictability would be an added skill set up forward. He has played his best game at half forward. Think he would make a very good forward. Smart footballer too, will get into positions that can potentially impact the scoreboard.

He was played forward in the first half.

It wasn't until he was moved back in the second that he came into the game.

Meh, a bit of a quarter is not enough proof to me.

Down back he reads the game better, no doubt, but his weaknesses make him a liability on occassions.

No but he's in a role we have more types of than not. Has left me completely underwhelmed in his first three outings.

Titch will go before Dan. Helbig needs a run in the Burg soon too
