Connors

Still too enigmatic. His ratio of good to bad things was about even last night, which is more than can be said for a few others.

Takes the soft option and goes to ground too often, both when being tackled and when tackling. Shows little appetite for the contest. Very poor game. Not quite sure what position he is best suited to and big doubts on his future at AFL level.

coburg is his position , this is harsh but if i was coach i would be very close to 'not to play again and delisted/traded at end of year'

Soft, unaccountable, one-sided, undisciplined & over-rated kicking skills. Did I miss anything?? Should have flicked him when we had the chance.

Just a season and a bit ago he was not a senior player and now is so graph heading in the right direction. Needs core strength to break tackles and once he does he will be even more valuable.

Don't mind him he is in a consolidating phase.

Interestingly, in Richo's video showing us around the new ME Centre, Connors demonstrates that he can bench-press 150kg (only other player at the club who can do so is Hislop; Richo can't match it now).

Is this strength being used? Is it being developed at the expense of core skills?

gym looks great eh.

150keg bench press is pretty impressive. I wouldn't have guessed he was our strongest player.

Give him this season and see how he goes. He's only played 20 something games right ?

Agreed, what i would like to know is, Do the faithful think Connors is being played in the wrong or right position?

I'm happy to have seen him spend some time down back as a teaching tool, help give him a defensive side to his game but personally i feel its time to move to a forward flank. No doubt Dan has some freakish talent and a half back flank is no position for that.

Move him forward and let him fly for his marks again and play his natural game

Hasn't stopped Helbig committing himself?

Uncompromised attack on the ball and the opponent carrying the ball is not the sole domain of the experienced.

No, it hasn't stopped the HellBoy. I'd love to think Connors has that aggression when sober but I haven't seen it.

another guy whos not a natural backman. let him loose on the wing or forward flank. enoughs enough making all our classier players defenders. let him worry bout kicken a few goals and setten many up, not defending first then thinking about getten the ball
