Good news,Connors has re-signed for another 2 years

Says you. I was hoping we would trade him. Needs to get a lot better quickly and learn how to actually defend.

I really thought Dan had turned the corner and was going to start showing us what he could really do after returning from suspension. But his disposal over the last 5 games has been pretty bad. No trouble finding it, which is a start, but if he doesn't use it then it hurts the team badly.

Fair way to go yet, but not sure he had any real trade value anyway. Not unhappy he has resigned.

Improved tenfold this year. Would be in the top 5 or 6 performed all year in the game he's played. Has areas to improve on of course but so does any 20ish game player.

Amazing people on PRE stick up for duds like White and King but bag the crap out of Connors who is 10x the player or our other good players. Amazing.

Had 2 decent games (Freo & one other) where he looked like a millionaire running out of defence, still missed easy targets in those games though and wasnt too bad last weekend against Saints, however, Connors has a long way to go. Some people are seduced by the ease with which he can stream out of defence but he is deficient defensively, always goes left, kicks some absolute bullets but has far too many howlers too.

No doubt he has made massive inroads this year but he was coming from as far back as anyone so we shouldnt be happy with where he is now when there is so much more improvement to get out of him.

He has the easiest gig in the team, being the link man coming out of the backline.

Some people mark him only on possessions and the flair with which he plays.
Very unaccountable (refer to Collingwood game where he wouldnt go within 5 metres of his man, who kicked 4, some spud whose name escapes me).

And while I'm not sticking up for king and white any more than I would for Dan, he needs to take a leaf out of their books, defensively and from a team first perspective... When it comes to team first, Dan is last IMO.

Something to build on for next year and beyond. hope he rewards the investment in him, good luck DC.

The last line of your post doesn't seem to fit, made me laugh.

Better yesterday than he has been recently. Must work on his right side in the pre season. Opponents continue to push him onto his right and he gets himself into a mess trying to wheel onto his left.

You mean like C and M Rioli, P Couch and The Dominator did? Maybe Scotty West?

Well maybe you will not find it so amazing after today.

King played a great game, whereas Connors was poor. White was with Connors.

Connors kicking has been pretty bad lately, and some of his stuff today was rubbish.

Six weeks ago, I thought we had a real player with Connors. But he really hasn't finished off the season very well.

How was Connors poor?

Watching a different game? 20 touches, 85% efficiency, 10 from 12 kicks effective and only 1 clanger.

Thought he was bad early but worked into the game nicely and finished well.

Yep.
He still seems to shank a couple of kicks each game - but overall played OK.

Very big year for DC. He made substantial improvement last year, but I feel we will have to see much more improvement if he is going to sustain his place in the side. Is he able to effectively nullify forwards? Is his tank big enough to run in the midfield? Hmmmm.
