Connors

Has the worst baulk I have ever seen!
Nearly always baulks into his tackler. Very predictable.
As I said a while back and was howled down here, has very poor kicking skills. Stand by what I said.

Am I the only one who thinks Dan was much better yesterday than the previous two weeks? Missed fewer targets

He frustrated the hell out of me yesterday...

Smothered kick; corralled when playing on, forced on to right side, stuffed. His one-sidedness is my concern. At AFL level, they exploit this stuff unmercifully

No I feel the same.

I like the way he continually pushed to offer an option moving forward. His work ethic is approaching a good standard, and another pre season will highlight this.

His kicking was a bit better - it definitely helps that we had guys running to present through midfield

The team played a better brand of footy yesterday. Took the game on, like they did mid season when they were ona roll, and showing sides up. If they can carry this on, they shold be better next year, with another pre-season under thier belts. Connors is a big part of this run and carrry, take the game on style.

Better yesterday than he has been recently. Must work on his right side in the pre season. Opponents continue to push him onto his right and he gets himself into a mess trying to wheel onto his left.

Perhaps a little hard.
Got plenty but butchered plenty.
Better overall this year but lots of work yet to do for Dan to be considered a good AFL player.

But he does have a bit to work with

Edwards is in the same boat IMO, if he could just cut out the howlers we'd be raving even more about him. Both are serious talents. Lets hope another 40-60 games experience helps them fulfill it.

Will now need to raise the bar for 2011. Has come a long way and this pony has proved to himself that there is more to life than sinking *smile*.

If this bloke is to become a 200 game player he will need to improve his stamina considerably because this is the only area that lets him down. Butchering the ball could be caused by lack of fitness, if he works on his stamina because as the game goes on he becomes tired, his mind switches off and his kicks become lazy. Maybe he needs to work on his mental strength as well, that will sure help him in the long run.

In 2011 I would also like see him run off his opponent more and kick more goals. This would make him a dangerous player and more respected by the opposition.

No doubt.
Perhaps that's why I am being so harsh because I can see/have seen what he's now capable of.
I think towards the back end of the year that he's tapered off a bit.

Agree, and I think GPB is correct on the fitness issue. A big off season for the tigers

Been missing far too many targets coming out of defence, and other teams know he only has a left foot and tries to sell candy when he appears to go on his right.

very frustrating yesterday, still has improved over previous seasons and the coaches now have to tinker with him over the pre-season to turn him into a more damaging hbf.

Turned it over abit but not too much to worry about... Once he gets a bigger tank he is moving to the midfield and therefore alot more effective. He does a lovely penetrating kick on him. Just a touch down on confidence but I really like him. huge upside

His technique is poor at times. He doesn't put his body over the ball, he lays back and thus doesn't contro; his powe or direction.

On what I've seen, I'm inclined to agree, he's a bit 50% when it comes to contact, but he's still earning his place through his development this year. A good pre-season off the grog with concentarted work with Leppa and we could all be raving about him next year - has shades of Goddard about him................
