He needs to get fitter, get stronger and be more disciplined outside the club, but he is fine the way he plays. His flair is his best asset and will be a genuine match winner for us, hopefully from next year. His game against Hawthorn was exactly what your gonna see from him, floating around the ground, kicking goals, weaving through traffic, getting into scuffles.

Conners doesnt only have ability, but he has smarts as well which is why it's sad to see him take the dumb option so often. What i'm talking about for example is when he's one on one with the ball coming in from a kick. He'll oftem back off from his opponent to get the sit, allowing his opponent to back up a little with him, hence protecting the space where the ball will fall and also cutting Connors run up.
He's one of the few players that will control the fall of the ball to his onw advantage with a deft tap or whatever, so if he's smart enough to do those things, thats what i'd prefer to see him do. I love watching him take speccies, and i hope he takes heaps more, but he has to pick the moment a lot better.
When he get s these things right, and i'm sure the penny will drop for him, he'll be a gem but some of the stuff he gets away with in the two's he simply won't get away with in the seniors and thats already been proven.

All Connors needs to do is have an injury-less pre-season (unlike last year) and he will be fine.

In a couple of years, Connors will naturally bulk-up, will shave his head and then we'll have a BAD DAN on the field every week............uglier than Barry Hall.
