If Connors can play a full season next year is a chance to win both Mark & Goal of the year geez he can take a screamer & that goal when we dumbied the Hawks guy was a gem!!
Noticed he tried to take another screamer shortly after his good grab on the weekend that went over the back and Hawks ran away with. Thought at the time that it was the sort of thing players do get benched for rather than bringing the ball to ground to advantage. Wonder if I only noticed this due to his supposed 'tude' I keep reading about. It's fine if you take the grab or kick he goal - think Lids would of been dirty had he missed following the baulk and not given off) it will be interesting to see how the club try and shape him in this regard.Inspector said:If Connors can play a full season next year is a chance to win both Mark & Goal of the year geez he can take a screamer & that goal when we dumbied the Hawks guy was a gem!!

Col.W.Kurtz said:btw did anyone get Knighta flashbacks when he baulked inside and slotted a goal from the Southern wing to the Ponsford stand end?

;D :hihi :hihi :hihi :clap :clap :clapCol.W.Kurtz said:You cam almost see the ghost of Wayne Campbell running on Connor's outside shoulder calling for the handpass.
Agree, and also agree that players are 'over coached' these days. And with his peers giving him some 'heads up' about his actions I think Connors will come along a treat.Inspector said:I think that is Connors don't curb his natural instincts.
I remember that, was very funnyTy Esler said:The draft camp story was Connors - Edwards tested in the top 5% for the beep test, vertical leap and 3km time trial at his draft camp. Connors poor testing and questions regarding his attitude :-\ caused him to fall in the draft to our pick in the 4th round - Francis looked almost giddy when they picked him.

as i wrote elsewhere- criticising connors for 'being flashy' is too easy to do on this forum and cliched. i think everyone is copying each other on this. so what if he sells a dummy or flies for marks? he has more natural ability than the rest of the (coburg) team put together so should use his freakish skills to advantage. each time (on Saturday) i saw him take on a man and back himself it opened up big opportunities inside 50. ISNT THIS WHAT WE WANT??? players who are willing to take people on and back themselves and be confident. you can't have it both ways. sure he'll make a few errors, but if everyone has their way he'll be anotherr faceless flanker collecting cheap handballs in the backline. WE NEED DAMAGING PLAYERS AND HE IS ONE.
