Whats wrong with you lately Harold. You seem to have gone from being a good contributer to a thread to a sniper?
i think its the old sick of stupidity syndrome madcow. hes played some decent footy at coburg hes a class above most on our list yet to have played only two games is crazy. you can say the same thing with collins. has played some really good footy at coburg yes hes a bit on the light side but he has good skills decent pace and knows how to get a kick. why hasnt he had a game. would say the same for rance it wasnt going to kill us giving him a handful of games this yr.hes shown enough at coburg.polo is another just not given a decent go. yet such deficient players like hyde tivendale schulz jackson king pattison have been given dream runs, these types have been gifted games at the expense of getting games into players who show a bit.

Geez, Leysy was only showing that Dan had a very good game yesterday & the absurdity of the mothers club still whinging on his supposed "tude" & fitness.

Nitpickers are out today.

What makes me laugh most Willie Mays is that pre is pro Luke McGuane and anti Dan Connors. Absurd.

No-one is anti Dan Connors, we're just pro disciplinary action if required. I don't think anyone doubts his potential. I personally hope he can continue his good form from the weekend and I make no apologies for wanting him to be one of our go to midfielders in the future.

There's a bit of a difference between being anti-connors and wanting him to get his head and attutude right.

I'd much prefer he has to prove his attitude and head is ready for the glamours of a full time classy AFL player then throw him stright him than just crossing our fingers that he doesn't become the next AFL player caught in a drink/drugs/crime scandal.

His spot on the list was brought into question by some because of these "application issues" based on hearsay that no-one actually has any evidence for Ian.

What head & attitude issues are these that you refer to Baloo?

The attitude concerns that saw him slip so far in the draft. Most observers felt his skills were well worth a Top 20 pick but concerns about the mental side saw him slide to, what was it, 40 something ?

Sure he would have had that splash of arrogance so badly needed at our club that may have put some off but Leysy understood it was more to do with concerns over his pace that were magnified to most when he tested very poorly for the 20m sprint at draft camp.

Afterwards the club got him down learnt he was taking off on his opposite leg & he was actually quite OK when we tested him privately.

Leysy's cleaned out a lot of brain cells over the years so will stand corrected if the above wasn't the case.

I believe that is the official party line.

Really? I would have said overall PRE has had a collective crush on Dan Connors since his great debut and people have been looking to upgrade Luke since the his debut. Every week in the in and outs thread there are several, "In: Connors Out: McGuane" posts, this happens even on weeks where Connors has been injured.

Personally I given a choice between Connors and Luke in a trade it’s not even close. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like Luke as a supporter, the same way I liked Scotty Turner more than Wayne Campbell. Even if I expect Rance to take Luke’s place in 12-24 months.

Didn't he tell Francis he took off on that leg because that's how he skatebaords? Happy to stand corrected on that one.

But for people to question his spot on the list, worry about his attitude and perecieved problems is wrong. We could go for more 'Lawnmowing" types. In 12 months the DC bandwagon will just about be full. He is a keeper. Connors & Cotchin with big preaseasons will go a longway to solving our midfield woes. Next year I expect those two to be our first change onballers and in 2010 just about our starting centre sqaure players.

Lucky brightsiders like leysy & scoop are keepin these darkies in check from all this unwarranted criticism of our players eh Duck.

Now, where are those Jackson, JON, Polo, McGuane & most of all Tambling threads. ;D

Indeed. I will be bright when the light shines upon those who don't mow lawns and focuses on those who carve up the lawn at the hallowed turf down from Jolimont Station. ;D

Thought that what Frank said was that at Draft Camp Edwards was actually testing ok, but he had noticed that on every 20m test that he'd ever seen him do, he was taking off on his opposite leg.... thinking obviously that he could be even better if he took off on his preferred side.

When he asked him why he did that, he said it was the leg he took off on skateboarding or had as his front foot surfing or whatever. But yeah, I thought it was Edwards ?
