Changes v the Cats

I've never hoped for a player to break both their legs.

It's not sporting. No matter the opposition, we should remember, these are people. We should not be hoping that Tom Stewart has a horror accident and ends up with no intact ligaments.

It's just not right to go to a game, dreaming of an injury that leaves such a good bloke as Tom Stewart with a full body cast and without any further career.

So let's all be better than that.

True, but we wish he thought the same before meeting Dion last season.

Cumbo has been that horrible the last 2 weeks I'm ok with him having a long stint in the VFL. His body language and application has been disgusting.

That can be said for most the team in the GC game
As for Cumbo appears lost as to what’s required of him he’s being stifled can’t play his natural game

Yep.

His strength is kicking goals

And thats currently unfashionable.

But dimma has a plan to unveil his spring collection in good time.

I think well beat these *smile* this week

No Dangerfield
No Guthrie
No Close
No Henry
No Viking
No Stengle

The bloke midfield is the kid we gave them. Holmes.

I think it is all too easy to blame the coach.
I love Cumbo and I hope he is a long term Tiger player but he hasn't learned how to be one consistently yet

Mansell in to wear Tom Stewart like an ankle bracelet. I fully expect Mansell to be given carte Blanche to belt the living bejeezus out of him at every opportunity. Unfortunately Lynch is not playing but Samson doesn’t mind jumping into players standing under the high ball And I suspect there may be plenty of high balls landing on Stewart’s head Friday night.

Dimma..has he destroyed Cumberland ? Our most exciting new foward in years seems shattered ..Play him against the cats i say .
Dimma's words and actions towards Cumberland are deliberate and repeated
Clearly everyone loves Cumberlands scoring involvements and he has proven to be quite potent of a limited number of touches
which makes me think he is either not working hard enough and/or not running patterns he is told to
from normal vision Cumberland certainly tackles and works hard in and around the packs
But I know they watch replays closely and have the vision up the ground which quite different to what we see

His stats also say not finding much of the ball
and, sigh, Sonsie , Hugo and Mansell are all similar and all being subbed out and dropped similarly

Let's hope this tough love breeds hard working, disciplined first graders who value their spot in the side
not flashy players who drift in and out of games

Dimma looking for any excuse to drop Cumbo prefers Richmond man Mansell instead
He loves battlers in the mould of FAarts George (in his latter years) to someone that has factor and plays outside the square
Maybe if Cumbo lights it up in the VFL off HB he’ll get another go
Cumbo couldn't get into the game, same as last week. I say back to the reserve, get your confidence, play well and come back better. against top sides we need all players firing. Shai, Dusty, Ryan, Jack are playing well, we need the other forwards to do the same and lift our forward group. I love to see Cumbo destroy the opposition, but has had no impact in the last two games.

For me, I just want Sonsie in. Kid needs game, our only hope to be an elite midfielder on the list. Roll the dice. Don't play him on a wing on running machines like Brandon Ellis.

I too like Sonsie and reckon long term he will be a very good player for us…but his game v GC was putrid including pulling out of numerous contests and not running near hard enough to get involved. He needs to prove to the coaches that was a one off and string together 3-4 solid VFL games. Players talk about earning the trust of team mates after some indiscretion. Sonsie genuinely needs to earn that respect from coaches and probably teammates.

I agree to an extent. He was thrown to the wolves largely by playing him on the wing against Ellis, but maybe this was an attempt to show him what workrate was. Unfortunately for Sonsie he seemed to sulk about being picked there and didn't chase hard and didn't hit the contests like he should have. Deservedly will be playing 2's.

Sonsie has more skill in his little finger than Hugo has in his whole body, but when played at AFL level I know which one will put in 110% and the other is a question mark unfortunately.

I dont think we will see him anytime soon. As others have said his GC game was putrid. Work rate was horrible and so was the attitude. Is in the Cumbo basket.

yep.. if you can't commit, you can't compete and you don't play.

Get over that issue and then you get another game.

It took a few easy kills for Geelong to win a game this year, so a win, even against lowly West Coast, might change things for us. In terms of ‘Points against‘ on the ladder we are level pegging with Geelong…….but they lead the comp in ‘Points for’…..so it’s all about containing Cameron and Hawkins. Cats missing a few including Dangerfield……..If Dusty and Prestia can keep trending up and our forward 50 entries can improve just a little bit, we might be at least some kind of chance…..but we will need to stop those two somehow.
