Captain Cotchin

Super players.. Martin averaging 22 disposals and has kicked 30 goals - for a second year player that is ridiculously good.

His stats compare very well to the likes of Ablett and Judd at the same age. Martin could end up as something very special in years to come.

And kicking more than a goal a game you have to love that. Not many mids kick a goal a game.

geeee apart from richo i cant think of a tiger player ive felt so damn excited about, and so much admiration and downright love for in the last 30plus years than the chimp...all signs are there that we are witnessing someone who just might go on to be a true legend of our club....(throw in dusty and jack and there is planty to be excited about right now)
I had high hopes for Cogs, but Cotch is just about in a league of his own. Hopefully we can buy a another gun, Conca develops and Lids heads back into the middle (at least more often).

Cogs! Oh god what a tragedy! Just mesmerizingy heartbreaking! Can you imagine if he had never had an injury and was playing next to cotch and dusty!

The commentators said it, he keeps his feet in the one on ones (so many of our players can learn from that).
The complete opposite of Farmer, who I swear goes to ground every time he is within 5 meters of the ball or a contest. Last week against the Swans when be "fell over" as Rhys Shaw waltzed past him was classic Farmer.

Cotchin took a dive Angus Monfries would have been proud of after he gave away the 50m to Bartram in the 2nd q.

This is where stats suck. Poor game? What poor game?

Cotchin's work around the packs was brilliant. Absolutely majestic to watch. We haven't had a player like him. His tackling, desperation, knock on's and teh things that don't register a stupid number on a piece of paper but are more important than anything a stat can provide. This kid is Gold.

Captains goal too. The "follow me boys" after he kicked it too.... He is our everything this kid.

Spot on TB. Forget the hype about Scully - this guy is the real deal.

Cotchin's last quarter was massive.
As soon as I saw him get the ball near the goal in Q4 I just knew it was home.
He's one of those special players.

That goal by Cotch was a result of great running and composure but don't forget the guy who made the goal for him , Shane Edwards. Ran off Scully , picked up , swivelled and handpassed in one action. He had a massive last quarter. He was the one who kicked it to Webberley for his goal and kicked a long goal himself. This is not about how good he is or whether he should stay on the list, I just don't think he has been given the credit he should get for a great quarter when the game was on the line.

I haven't been a fan of shane this year Sinbad, but have to agree with you here, thought he did some good things on the w/e against the Dees, especially that long bomb on goal in the last. Was waiting for the shank, but did it beautifully.

Yes, if Edwards plays to that level every week he definitely stays on the list.

Its a big IF though.

Once again grabbed his team by the scruff of the neck and took them all to the next level.

And some of his kicking with his left foot was sublime.

Yep agree Baloo. Cotchin is not right fit for the leader even in a temporary role. Maybe in two years time.

I may have to go back on my comments here. He seems to be stepping up and the club seem to be really successfully grooming the chimp for the top job. I wouldnt be disappointed if he was captain but maybe, just maybe give him another year before taking on that responsibility.

how good was that interception of the kick in, followed up by a clutch goal

that was a true captains goal.

having said that let's not put too much on his shoulders just yet... make him captain for the start of the 2013 season
