Captain Cotchin

I have watched Trent all year and love the way he waits at the top of the race until all the players have come out, patting those he can get to on the back, then joining them at the banner. He then does the same at end of half time, always looking back to make sure none are straggling behind him. This is something he has done all year.

It's something he did in his first year too, we were being smashed by Adelaide and at halftime he stood at the gate and patted each player on the back on their way to the rooms, I rewound and rewound it to show my Dad because it just amazed me that an 18 year old was doing this.

Gale wasn't kidding about his willingness to do anything to raise money for the FTF.

Banner on the RFC website is promoting the sale of "A Night With Trent Cotchin"

Ha ha, I got an email from the club entitled "Spend the Night with Trent Cotchin"...... >:D

After the schoolboy's game on Sunday Trent came out onto the ground to have a kick and a handball to himself. He'd just amble from one end of the ground to other stretching out every 20 metres or so just to get a feel for things. When the schoolboy's left the ground Trent walked over to them and was shaking hands and so forth.A couple of the schoolboy's coaches obviously know Trent and spent a minute or so talking to him.He seems to be a natural leader with a massive love for the game.An oustanding young man. :clap :clap

The burden of leadership is massive. Chimp has never done a pre season but carries our midfield. Is he a god? What good would he be to us then?

He fought back after his egomaniacal WCE failure. And he succeeded. And so did we under his leadership.

But just as his failure against WCE was unspeakable so is the moment in the goal square against the Swans. Oh you all saw it.

He shirked through resentment. Why should a boy have to carry the men?

Trent Cotchin will carry us to glory. But there will be trials. Inner trials. He's the best football story I've ever witnessed.

He didnt have the big stats like last week but you cant underestimate the amount of work this kid does throughout a game. Like a true champion he dug deep in the last quarter and got us going again.

Captain Cotchin - the title suits him perfectly.

We all know because he has so much hurt factor he's the one guy the opposition tag every week.

But for the first time we gave his tagger a hard time near all night.

Great to see.

About bloody time, says Matty Knights.

This is where stats suck. Poor game? What poor game?

Cotchin's work around the packs was brilliant. Absolutely majestic to watch. We haven't had a player like him. His tackling, desperation, knock on's and teh things that don't register a stupid number on a piece of paper but are more important than anything a stat can provide. This kid is Gold.

Captains goal too. The "follow me boys" after he kicked it too.... He is our everything this kid.

To say he's everything is to undersell Jack, Lids, Bull and the rest. What he is is The Champ. (No, there's no missing "i".)

Agree. Though not sure who said he had a poor game.
