Captain Cotchin

Great game from the Chimp.

How hard does he go at the ball.

Dragged his teammates along like a true captain does.

Absolute no brainer to make him captain next year, he's ready & will thrive in the role.

:clap

Remember in the 90s when North had a young team brimming with unbridled talent and Pagan made a brash, arrogant bloke called Carey skipper. A few flags later and the rest is history (not that I'm suggesting Cotch has his eye on anyone's mrs!).

I'm a big Newman fan. But when you have the chance to appoint a matchwinner and natural leader as skipper, you should seize it.

He is almost too hard at it for his own good. No brainer as next Captain.

One criticism, his kicking when under no pressure in the first half was pretty poor and his shot for goal poor too. He has a good technique and had time on a few occassions but was way off with some kicks.

There were some really sublime kicks too Big Cat.

How was the spotup to Dusty through traffic when hemmed in on the boundary in the 1st that Martin made a mess of.

Or his kick under pressure to the lead of Reiwoldt who didnt have to break stride who then hitup TV in the 2nd...

Genius.

He's running himself into the ground & coming of spent. Imagine when we get him with a tank & full time captaincy.

This guy is the leader in the Voss, Hird mould we've been longing for.

There's been some doubters on him on here that will be quiet this week.

The kick to Dusty was great. That's why it's surprising when he misses targets and makes you wonder why his set shots have been so poor? You are probably correct that its partly a fitness issue. Imagine how scary he will be when he builds a great engine? Hopefully Martin works just as hard, they'll be some handful if both get super fit.

Bang on with the fitness Big Cat.

Dusty is a million miles off where he needs to get to.

Having a beer with a couple of former esteemed PRE posters & was mentioned how shocked Dusty would be in so far how far off the pace fitness wise he would be if he was put into Collingwoods setup next week.

Great game indeed Tooheys

BTW how good was it to have our captain setting the tone, having a huge influence on the game & dragging his teammates along with him..

I think even Newman would agree it is the best and most natural time to hand over the reigns.

Newman, backline general, wearing No.1

Cotchin, RFC Captain - 2012 -

Hope they make him captain but let him stay in no. 9.

Agree, the no. 9 is his. Should be skipper.

Yeah, he did the business. Great rebound after a poor game versus the Eagles.

Hunts the ball. Multiple efforts at the coal face.

Guess Dyer'ere can get that rubber chicken back. ;D

Make him Captain next season, the passion is there. The club will only get better with Cotchin in the 17.

Well said.

If only we had a few more.

I dunno. No 9 will always be Wayne Campbell for the masses. Much better to let him make 17 his own. (I'm much to modest to claim the no 17 legacy for myself.)

He bores in bigtime. Every contest he is thereabouts. Question would you swap him for Murphy ? I say no

I say hell no. Hope he stays in #9 when he becomes skipper, I've already forgotten Campbell wore it.
