Captain Cotchin

Probs his worst game for the year.

What makes it worse was that at times Scott Selwood was doing the job on him. The same player we could have had with the pick 19 that was used on a dirty Mexican back flanker.

And even seeing Shannon Hurn just floating around, geez, we have blown some picks.

I was disappointed with Woosha's lack of respect for history that he didn't put Paddy McGinnity on Chimp for a rematch of the 2007 Champs

The reality of it is, it's not a doll, it's not a toy, it's not a human, it's a chimp.

I'm disgusted that they didn't give the Captaincy to Jacko. This club has no idea and I'm losing faith in CC and Beavis. No wonder we are a dud infested rabble.

I reckon a quarter as captain to each of our oldest loyal players would have been fitting; q1 to Tuck, q2 to Miller, q3 King and q4 Thursfield.

Cotchin will captain the Tigers against the Eagles this weekend. I think he is a fantastic choice to cover Newman. In fact I believe the club should install Cotchy as our club captain as of next season. Just let Newman get his game right down back.

Irrelevant who Captains the team at the moment. You can't lead a field of spuds. They just lie there.

Yep agree Baloo. Cotchin is not right fit for the leader even in a temporary role. Maybe in two years time.

I don't think I've had the chance to do this yet. Cotchin just wouldn't lay down and play dead. Until now.

If Deledio had ever played a game like Cotchin did on the weekend Punt Road would now be burnt to the ground, its smouldering ruins adorned with the bodies of the current recruiting staff (disembowelled in honour of those that made the error of recruiting him). But the protected species Chimpin Cotchin can ponce about a park pretending to captain a football team with nerry a word said.

If Cotchin made three efforts during the entire game they were only to pass wind. Let's hope he had a bit more luck with that than passing an opponent or a football.

Sure, you or I would be pretty insulted if we were matched up on Scott Selwood but at least we'd make the effort to break even with him; we may be humble but nobody wants a rubber chicken shoved up their arse - first prize in the "Can't get a kick on Scott Selwood" raffle. There was a bit of the delicate ego of Tivendale about Chimpa on Sunday, even if he's not as good a kick. And plenty of Nick Daffy in the honesty department - Selwood may have misplaced his wallet.

Trent has everything needed to captain the club for many years to come. Except he's a bit too important.

BTW I hope Chimpa didn't show any vim today - you know, stickin his hand out for his weekly pay. Coz he didn't show any on Sunday when it was time to earn it.

We've had plenty of bludgers down at Richmond. We've had plenty of lairs. We're lookin for a leader.

Fair call on Cotchin's effort on Sunday, but it's only one game. If he becomes a repeat offender at going missing when things get tough (like Lids) then I think your comments are justified. I'm prepared to cut him some slack at this stage, and just hope that he learns from his disappointing games and set s the bar higher. As for Lids I've now lowered my expectations of him and just acknowledge that he is a good player but he won't be a champion - it's sad because he has all the makings of a champion except for the ticker (wouldn't you love to inject some of Cousin's gut-running into Lids..)

What good did Ben's gut running do us? I'd take Lids over Cousins of the Richmond variety any day.

My point was not comparing Lids to Cousins - my point was comparing their capacity to run hard. Don't get me wrong I think Lids is a very good player but IMO he lacks the capacity (for whatever reason I don't know) to take the game on, particularly at times when we are needing leadership and inspiration.

The silence is deafening. Where are those who had a go at me when I had the audacity to mention Trent's 53% disposal efficiency once? :hihi

Honestly, even if you disagreed with it how can you argue with a post as well written as that? I know not to trifle with a man who uses 'having a rubber chicken shoved up your arse' as a metaphor for not breaking a tag
