Bye Bye Jack Higgins!

I think his season was undersold by the flogs in the media, they crapped on too much about his “enthusiasm “ I see him having a huge year next year and becoming a part of the second starting midfield

He didnt help himself. The media didnt see the quality in the kid but how entertaining he was to interview him.
It got beyond a jioke towards the end of the year.
If Raynor had he same season he wouldve won the RS.

I agree, the media started to portray him as a novelty

Ferzachary. Dipshits in the media gave bugger all credit to a kid who's walked into a premiership team n cemented his spot in front of a raft of other far more mature contenders. Kid showed plenty of composure n some smooth moves this year, future looks very bright for the Higlet.

He'll be at least as effective as Stevie J, will crap all over Ballantyne and might even rival Akermanis if he can build his tank and move into the midfield

Didn't he come 3rd in the pre season time trial? Will have no problem building a tank to play midfield

Right now he's a novelty. They'll start hating on him when he starts tearing teams apart. 8-

Phew! Talk about pumping up his tyres, AYH. How about if he just avoids the 2nd year blues and consolidates his position in the side. Many a kid has started their career well and faded away. Two of those guys above are legends of the game.

If he has a good preseason I could even see him as part of the second starting midfield.

He's already playing through the midfield. The media kept banging on about him being a small forward when he was playing through the midfield through the 2nd half of the season. His stats also back that up.

Yep. Didn't spend much time locked down as a small forward at all. Kid's already got a decent tank on him for a first year.

In the words of Craig McCrae, Higgins GPS numbers are through the roof!
His tank is not even close to being an issue. Probably speed of the game, confidence and experience are things he'll continue to get better with as he gets more exposure.

Ran a 15 beep so was ready to go from the outset.

2nd coming of Ablett Jnr. Said it at the time he was drafted.

What? Doesn't chase or tackle? :hihi
All seriousness though, doesn't have the acceleration or kicking penetration of GAblett Jnr. but the kid can play.

No. Why hold back? I say the real deal. The next Messiah. Not merely Junior, no ... Senior! As good, or better, than God Himself - both in the guts and up forward when resting. The sky's the limit, literally, like ... the Ascension.

You can't get more rarefied!

Saw him running the other day. They guy is a freak, his cruising speed was off the charts, looked super fit. Hopefully goes into midfield next year. I see him as a Brent Harvey type, don’t think he’s as quick as Harvey though.

That does sound good. He might be a bit bigger than Harvey but definitely not as fast.
