Bye Bye Jack Higgins!

Not sure if I were an opposition supporter how I would view the Higlet.

But he's ours, so he's my favourite. The personality is brilliant, but I like what he does on the field more.

Proper footballer.

I like him, great young player with flair. Also a refreshing change to listen to - very entertaining.

The one thing I don't like though is the media glorifying his dropping out of school. Yes, it's worked out for him in the short term at least. The education system is very 'cookie cutter' and is not for everyone. But does he have a back-up plan if footy were to come to an end tomorrow?

The media *smile* me with how they've promoted him in this light.

Anyone seen this? His dialogue sounds a lot clearer. Obviously gets a bit nervy in AFL but he'll mature quicksmart.

. Good catch, the AFL media circus would be nerve wracking - this shows a coherent, considered young man in a more relaxed environment.

Stephenson was good, but Higgins wasn't too far behind.
For a first year player he was able to keep his spot in the premiers team. He had a outstanding season.

he seemed a lot more relaxed kicking at goal as well , which is a good sign , his issues are nerves

I actually reckon its the opposite, they are not glorifying it but ridiculing it. I agree its annoying, but for the opposite reason for me, as someone who left school at the halfway point of year 10. School isn't for everyone, and also not everyone finishes year 12 at 17.

His steal in week one of the finals where he negated the two squarks players was just top notch footy!

Loved that play too. And if Caddy had layed a shepherd which he should have then Higgins would have walked in to an open goal.

Yep. Who needs school when you got a brilliant kid like Higgo in your team.

He will later on in life when his career ends but hopefully the club recognise that and will help him.

His love and complete dedication to the game most likely means he'll end up working in the system. Either coach, assistant coach or give players media training

Add to that his likeable personality. Will have plenty of opportunities post footy
