Bye Bye Jack Higgins!

He is either slow' and therefore a future round 2 pick is overs, or he is not slow, in which case we should hold the line on a 1st?

No one is giving us a 1st round pick for a small player with questionable skills, no leg speed and with a serious recent medical issue.

Underrated post

People saying Higgins is slow but Lambert and Prestia aren't all that quick. They're natural footballers and I reckon Higgins is similar. I seem to remember him doing well in the time trials when he arrived.

No doubt. Good player. But pick 30 for a player you are going to get 2 years out of is a bold move

I think we are pushing for more, otherwise the trade would have already been done. That it hasn't indicates that we are playing a bit of hardball whether it results in more remains to be seen, depends what other trades (picks or players) occur, but I doubt we would drag this out this long unless we were pushing for a bit more than what the Saints can provide with their current picks.

I hope you’re right Posh

Part of me doesn’t really care what we get for a player that doesn’t want to play for us.

Shaun Higgins has been a very good player but pick 30 is a big price for a 32 year old

So Sin, what would you expect from Geelong in return if they came knocking for 32 year old Shedda?

We lose Higgo ... fair enough has a had an impact no doubt.

But we do get a fast, skillfull young player coming in MO Jnr as well as already having plenty of midfield and forward cover in, Caddy, Aarts, Rossy, Riley Hyphen, and Dow and also Martyn who has impressed this year also, not to mention Stackie if he's on deck and focussed.

I reckon the Tigers will let Higgins go for a future second round pick.
Not sure he has a long-term future at RFC.
As others have said, if he's not playing regular senior footy in 2021 then his AFL career will most likely peeter out.
He would probably benefit from a new start at another club. Too many competitors on the Tigers' list for the spot he would play.

I agree. If he was really committed to the club he would stay and fight for his place in the 22
Spot on just like McIntosh did.

He stayed, did was needed of him to fight for his spot back in the seniors and was rewarded with another GF win !!

As we hit the last day of trade day, I’d make it as simple as possible for Jack and the Saints , round 1 pick or your staying , deadline is 3pm as we don’t want to miss happy hour at the Cricketers.

my guess it will be Jack an future 4th for future 2nd and 3rds

Guys like McIntosh seem to be a dying breed these days. It is why we need to place a premium on him and never let him go.

saints insist they'll take their first rounder to the draft .......
Simple then. We'll just have their first rounder next year for the Higlet n they can go kiss our furry butt cracks otherwise.

Rumours are they're offering a future second and third round pick for Higgins.

I don't think Jack has come back the same player after a life threatening condition. I just hope it is physically right and fitting for him to keep playing, wherever that may be.
