I personally spoke to Putt and Post who said something similar like that to me.

It is common knowledge now that the young guys who were not freaks from the beginning did not see a lot of Wallace.

Geez. The Wallace era is getting worse and worse. He is the George Bush of the RFC.

Thanks AT. Just checked it. Wow.

Yep he's played an excellent last half of the year.
The question is : Is he playing that way because Jade gave him a rev or
as he hasn't yet signed is he looking to impress other clubs ?

Hope it's the first

Or is it the fact that since wallace has Gone he hasn't had to play back, forward, wing and sometimes middle, he has just been able to settle in his best position. Right in the guts!!

How many times must it be said?
Deledio has been on the record himself as admitting to being slack.
Rawlings threatened to drop him and he hasn't looked back.
It's a feather in Rawlings hat. Glad he did it.

Re: Brett Deledio

Could be a 2nd b & f,not bad considering some of the things been said/written bout him this yr.

Re: Brett Deledio

Post actually said it in an interview recently. I can't remember which news organisation. The big concern to me is why didn't the club pull Wallace into line over this. To show real leadership, particularly with the younger players he should have been speaking to them at least once a week and realistically at every training session. Even if it's only a 5 second conversation to see how a player is going.

Re: Brett Deledio

So, seeing we now know how Wallace treated the players, do people now give more credit to Newman and King for confronting Wallace when they did ?

To me at least they are starting to look a lot better in that whole affair. Just a shame we still had the torrent of information out to the media who were able to blow it out of all proportion.

Gotta admit, I slammed Newman and still don't particularly rate him, but with hindsight it seems he probably did the right thing. Don't actually know how the conversation went but it seems amazing it didn't happen earlier. Wallace Wonker.

Yeah well our player development has SUCKED for years and the above about Putt and Post with Wallace does not surprise me one bit. It appears by the day that both Newman and King did the right thing, Wallace should have gone then and there but he didn't have the guts to do it, he wanted his salary to be paid out if he went early and that is exactly what happened.

Still and all, TW is now well off my radar, the sooner we move on and get on with the idea of developing the younger players and uplifting the skills of all the players the better in my book.

Re: Brett Deledio

36 possessions

7 tackles

2 goals

Has Brett finally broken the barrier into joining the elite? 36 possessions with sublime skills and the 7 tackles are just brilliant. Plus two goals on top of that.

Hopefully he carries this into next year. He should be a chance for the Brownlow if he does.

my word he has, it makes me laugh with some questioning his output earlier on in first half of the season i have him playing more better games than not but yeah this 2nd half as thompson said on the footy show on sunday he's been sensational and james brayshaw says he's been fantastic...

Pendlebury who is sumblime with his skills but gee i have watched him closely of late and he doesnt work hard the other but hey when ur winning no body says anything and no body takes notice, was goling to name heaps of mids who i believe dont run hard the other way but most on here would know who they're and really couldnt be stuffed typing all their names, but one for sure is gibbs when he doesnt have it he doesnt go hard the other way, sure he's a smooth mover and luv his skills but like pendlebury when ur winning everything is fine, back on lids as richo said he has been unfairly marked, maybe a blessing in disguise as he has rocketed this 2nd half of the year...

I do blame wallace for many of the players slow developement....

Why ? Lids himself said he was playing very lazy and it was only when he was threatened with a drop to the 2s did he start to play with more desire.

Or are you saying Lids doesn't know what he's talking about ?

The commentators on 774 gave Terry a bit of a caning in regard to Lids on Saturday. Apparently he said in an interview after he left us that Lids would never make it as an elite midfielder and they were pretty scathing of the attitude of not giving him the opportunity rather than just using him elsewhere. I wonder how many other players' careers have been ruined during Wallace's tenure.

You know what rosy i heard that interview and i was gobsmacked, it was against st.kilda by memory going home from the etihad and hearing TW on the radio and saying lids would never make it as a mid, brereton and cant recall the other commentator but they both "disagreed" with wallace...brereton said u need to put ur best ball users on the ball and lids has the skill and pace to hurt the opposition....

Also, on the couch they touched on that subject and healy said perhaps agree with wallace and Mike sheehan and James Hird both replied nope he is a bona fide midfielder....Safe to say most new that anyway....

Wallace has and will always be about himself, he has stifled the careers of many, look at bling he has taken off like a rocket this 2nd half of the year after being in a spell under wallace :hihi

Agree totally.
Tell me you are kidding Astute? You must think Lid's and Rawlings are both fools.
