Yeah, seems to be an escalating problem.

Speaking of Edwards, who crossed to Collingwood during the 1979 season, Tony Jewell said "He's been nothing but trouble at the club. We've done the right thing by him all the way but he started moaning and groaning and I'm glad to see him go." Imagine the headlines these days!
Yes, I still remember the story when Edwards wanted to leave and it was a pic of him behind bars with some corny spin on how he wanted get out of jail (Richmond)

Even the club and players were p!ssed off.

I don't quite get you conclusions - without Lids we were around 16% chance of winning (4 out of 24) whilst when he played we were 46% chance of winning (110 out of 238). I also thought he missed more games than that. Is that correct?.

I counted the draws as half a win.

112.5 / 243 = 46.3 %
4 / 24 = 16.7 %

46.3 / 16.7 = 2.8.

2.8 times more likely to win if he was in the team.
If you do no rounding at all, it's 2.7777 repeating :).

Ah cheers - I get it. Sorry I read your post back to front.

Lids has just been interviewed on AFL Toninght, said that if he had his time again he would have got in touch with his former teammates earlier than he did. I feel for the guy, he has obviously done it pretty hard.

I don’t think he showed much class Immediately following our triumphant win. When you compare his poor me attitude to vision of jacko, axel, Chappy, Cambo , kingy and others during and after the game. I can’t help but say it lowered my opinion of him. Cambo admitted he shed a few tears and was seen in the rooms

Looks in ripping nick.
Good luck to him for his time at GWS but couldnt give a toss what he feels regarding our win.
Reckon he took the correct stance considering he plays for another contender.

Didn’t stop Cambo or newy being at the game

I think it’s different as they have finished playing. While Lids went searching for a flag and would have felt pain with us being better without him.

I don't see the point being hard on him. By all accounts it was at the clubs suggestion that he look around. While the move means he will never be in the same tiger folklore bracket as a richo or now a cotchin, he still deserves a bit of tiger love

He got hit by the Karma Bus, he was bagging the club, not professional enough, no leadership,
He wanted to go to Geelong....

What must really hurt is Caddy was going to be a part of tbe deal to get lids to Geelong - Lids didnt make it Caddy did and now has a Premiership medal.

And that post reminds of this gem, which, even if you had seen it before the premiership, you must see it after ... absolute classic.

If you read the Konrad Marshall book it was clear that despite what some say the relationship between Cotchin and lids was fine and that Cotchin is quoted as feeling sad about him leaving because he is such a quality person and a great mentor.
People are too hard on lids imo. He made a choice and it backfired for him and the last 2 weeks of September last year would have been really difficult. Incredibly hard.
It’s totally different to Newy or Campbell who retired and are elsewhere. Saying that he should have in touch with his ex team mates earlier is pretty honest imo and good on him for admitting his mistakes

Tears in my eyes from that clip. And my wife's and she sure doesn't follow the footy (NSW girl)

The really sad thing is - all things being equal with his injuries for the year - Lids would have been too underdone to get into the GF side. In a period when so many of our draft picks were complete shyte Lids was everything that was written on the box.

Romance Lids gets a medallion but in reality he would have been crying with Richo.

Still if you look at the all the premiership predictions for 2018 maybe he will get to feel better this year.

(They love us not...)

As far as I knew Lids had time on his contract and the club shopped him around. Looked like a win win for both parties, except Lids lost. Cambo and Newy are different cases, both played their entire careers with the Tigers and then retired.
