It's not ideal but it's a good result, Broders. Good business to have two 3rd rounders too with Naish coming next year.
Skinny draft for us this year, but we've brought in two experienced ready to go mids n a young ruck to support the Hamster so we've filled some urgent needs.

Next years draft we've got two first rounders a second n two thirds, that's enough to have a pretty fair bash at the draft n anchor our future, or perhaps work a trade for an elite player to help chase a flag.

I don't think we have a 2nd next year

Gonna kill me seeing Brett run out in GWS colours, but it was a win for both parties. Hope he kills it next year, except against us.

Thanks for the memories Lids. Will give me a reason to watch GWS next year (other than their song!!), just hope he doesn't play well against us!!

Pretty good deal for us, could be a much better pick than Pick 15 this year. I can't see Geelong in the Top 4 next year, they still have not addressed their deficiencies and losing Bartel, Caddy and Enright will not be easy to replace. Hoping for a Pick at worst at around Pick 12, but genuinely think we could have a Top 10.

Lids will tear it up at GWS if fit. Not like that disappointment Griffen.

I'll miss him, great servent. One of the most talented players to ever don the yellow and black. Ultra consistent.sad he didn't end up a 1 club player and how it ended. I'm sure he's p!ssed with the management (not the fans).

He still has a photo of his kid in a Richmond jumper on twitter.

Here Here Barnzy.

Gunna be bloody hard watching his silk carve it up in other colours.

Whatever the deal was Lids has been a loyal Tiger for a long time so at the twilight of his career he deserves a chance to potentially play grand finals footy and going to GWS that is more likely than staying at Punt Road.
Good luck to him and he has my best wishes for the future

What a sh!t result. If the club had the balls should have got rid of him last year when we would have got 2 1st rounders. How can people say it is a good deal when it all depends on what position other teams finish? GWS are almost guaranteed to be in a semi and there is nothing to say Geelong wont finish in the top 4 again if Dangerfield has another rippa year.

Once again club does things half hearted. We bring in an injury prone midfielder and a plodder in Caddy, while giving away our early picks in what is being touted as an excellent draft for elite midfielders. On top of this we still have Shedwards, Grigg, Houli, Townsend, A.Moore, Maric, Lambert, Morris, B.Ellis, Conca, Batchelor, Astbury, Hunt and Elton. That is 14 list cloggers!!! If this club was fair dinkum it would have traded out Riewoldt and Cotchin and started again. While at the same time offloaded as many of the above as possible. Instead they handed out 2 and 3 year contracts to some of these duds. Club will never learn.

:nopity :nopity :nopity :nopity :nopity :nopity. Gotta love people who are totally negative purely for the sake of being negative.

I'll be looking forward to him coming back as our Homecoming Hero in about 4 years. Still feeling pretty *smile* about this but just want to wish him all the best, and as someone mentioned earlier on, a rare tiger who you always felt secure with his hands on the ball. Thanks Lids and good luck ...

One of the most accomplished and complete players I've seen in Tiger colours. Wish him all the best and hope he can show the football world how elite he can be in a bloody good team.

The truly sad thing is we never got to say goodbye. I hope he posts a message to his loyal fans my daughter is quite upset.

If RFC don't win the GF next year, I hope for Lids sake he can become a premiership player with GWS next year !

best of luck Lids, fantastic servant for RFC
