I said earlier in the year that I would swap Lids for Griffen in a heartbeat. I AM AN IDIOT WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT FOOTY.
I'd have to agree. Even at the start of the year i wouldnt of done it, Griffen is VERY overated.

Good to see you have now seen the light though.

Offer Lids an Alister Lynch deal (& Cotch as well while your at it)

10 yr players who will be backbone of the midfield & club.

finally we have a few gun midfielders that will rival the best in the next 10 yrs

The media is finally starting to take notice of this gun as well.
Must be firming for the B&F. Will be interesting to see how he polls in the Brownlow too.
Hasn't caught the umps eye previously.

Dennis Cometti said something about Lids today that was interesting. Its that he blends in and doesn't stand out so you don't notice him as much when he's getting a bagful of possessions. I think I agree with that.

Looking that way.

Perhaps the Bulldogs should start feeling some heat for overlooking Buddy, especially since they have been looking for a key forward since Simon Beasley retired....

I would too, he doesn't catch the eye.
Might explain the lemon rinse at the beginning of the year..

Over the course of this season Lids has worked harder, got to more contests and won more ball than ever.

He is just about the best outside mid in the comp and not far off the best kick.

But his work inside is so good and so quick it's almost invisible. And he's doing a lot more of it. 09 has been a huge development year for Brett Deledio.

Won't happen although it certainly should. No one really cares about the Bulldogs, they don't sell papers. RFC does.

Watching him work his guts out today, the little things like running guys down, kicking goals, taking steadying marks.....it's time the number 3 legend was reborn and unearth the new skipper. This kid has tons of class and is ready to step up. Bugger the 17 jumper let him make his own mark as Captain in the number 3 jumper!

I agree. I'm not a big fan of the skipper having to wear 17. Let them wear the own jumper. Just make sure the 17 is given to an appropriate player (ie not Paul Hudson!!!)

Watch out in 2009.

The footy world will finally recognize how good Brett is.

He is a star and will be AA in 2009 without a doubt.
