Thought Lids was our only player on the park who stuck to his own game, wasn't intimidated and didn't bow to the Cats pressure.
Classy performance. Well done Brett.

A toff.

Redford said:Thats not the point. When you are required to run towards a bloke and make a tackle - but dont - it doesnt matter how many other tackles youve made. You cant just offset making a few against not bothering with others.
You're expected to make a tackle each and every time that you're in a position to.

He is becoming an elite player with the ball in his hands, though.

Hurt his shoulder last week too, so good effort.

If he had won that ball we were on up field as well. Hopefully that was just a lapse.
Need to take some inspiration from Richo fierce desire to win the contested ball in a 2 on 1 in the last. That sort of stuff makes kids walk taller.
At 21 he still has a couple of years before his stamina will peak, the guy runs all day but I think we'll still see a few of those efforts until he's got another couple of preseasons in him. Those sprints would take a lot out of him and he's still doing the in and under stuff too.Redford said:Big Lids fan. Had a good season too. However, I thought his game yesterday was very poor where his defensive pressure was concerned.
2 or 3 times he refused to make a tackle on a Hawthorn player short stepping it a la Wayne Campbell and 2 or 3 times he refused to chase as well.
To be honest, I think Cooneys season is way over-rated and so is he as a footballer. Very lazy and gets all his kicks running around a kicker for a cheap handball recieve. I think Deledios way in front.ZeroGame said:At 21 he still has a couple of years before his stamina will peak, the guy runs all day but I think we'll still see a few of those efforts until he's got another couple of preseasons in him. Just look at the break out year Cooney had this year, Lids will be at the same stage next year and he's had a pretty comparable year already. Look out 2009, year of the Deledio.
