He just needs more confidence. He wanted to pass off a couple of times before he did that massive run from the backline. Its just as well there were no options, that run did him the world of good.

He hasn't lifted his game or isn't showing off for Cotchin, it's just that Cotchin has already shown that he needs to be paid respect and is drawing defensive midfielders to him that would normally be lining up on Lids. Foley has also been getting the #1 tagger this year, especially since his game for Victoria. It's freeing up Lids and he's making them pay for it.

Hence the reason why a great Midfield is the way to go.[depth]

How bloody tough is this kid!!!

At the end of 2007 I started to doubt whether he'd be all we hoped but damn this kid's now an undeniable star, is tough as nails and a great shot at goal. Is it wrong to like a 21yo boy this much?!?!

If not captain in 2009, this guy's got to be elevated to VC.

Just rapped with lids, has taken his game to another level this year, like Foley did last year...just need Bling now to take the next step...meaning consistency

His second half was non-existent. Great first half. Need him to do more when we get challenged.

He did well just getting out there to play. A certain loss if he didn't pull on the boots today.

No doubt, just saying he faded very badly. I just hope it ws the injury and not mental.

Played ok today i thought but i was suprised he was out there.

Has had a good season so far and is averaging 24 disposals and a goal which is pretty good for a 21 year old.

The fade could have somehting to do with the fact he like the other 21 didn't stop running last SUnday. Got into Melbourne at 2am Monday morning and then had to front back up 5 days later.

yep, good effort. good point WT.

How good was that contested mark he took in the 2nd quarter?? *smile* sensational. He attacked the pill at full speed and took it one grab. And then went back and drilled it through the middle. A class act who's adding some real steel to his game.

Class player.

Cotchin, Deledio, Foley, Jack.

Edwards, Thursfield.

Six youngsters (all skinny or not physical) to go forward with. Draft youth Tiges. No retreads. Get some strength. And class.

WT they arrived actually at 3.30am and at a guess they probably wouldnt have got to sleep until at least 5 or 6 am, thats a day wasted, long road trip WA and a short break to match could've slowed a few players down after half time.

on lids wat a great effort to even be out there, i heard on thursday that his knee was still quite sore, hence why he played more so in the fwd line with stints in the midfield, to get 3 goals and about 20 touches, great effort...
