29 disposals, eff 83%, 3 tackles, 4 clearances, 7 contested possessions, 7 inside 50’s and 3 scoring assists.

Meh not bad!

;)

Very very impressive stats, though not enough for Tigermad2005, didnt even give him a vote but then again it shouldn't surprise when he thought the umps were ok 2nite, work that one out :headscratch

At least Lids took the game on and ran forward and rarely resorted to the usual game-plan of handpassing sideways, backwards, and anywhere else but towards the goals.

Maybe having Cotchin in the team has given him a bit of a kick up the arse in that people are going on about how good Cotchin will be and Lids may see that as a threat to his crown as the 'best player at Richmond' in the next 5-10 years?

Livers lids has been burning it up since RD 2, dont think this all started when Coth came in, the coth came in about a month ago.
From rd 2 lids hasnt really missed a beat....Round 1 he played deep fwd and kicked 2 goals but from rd 2 when terry dispensed with his move to have lids' in the forward line to the midfield id say he has been fanatstic on the ball and his decesion making and foot skills have been a treat to watch. Ave 26 disposals, 6 marks and a goal a match (kicked 13)

He may have been good earlier in the season as well but I reckon he has gone up a notch in the last month though since Cotch came into the side though.
That's just my belief.

Fair enough, who really knows, just great to see lids take it to the next level, i think he is in the AFL top 10 for disposals...

Lids, Foley and Cotchin what a future midfield....Bling improving every match liked his last Qtr 2nite kept running...

Connors, Collins, Polo, White etc will be the next wave of runners who will give us that midfield rotation mix....

Think Polo has been hard done by, how hyde or tivvas or petts get a game ahead of this bloke is beyond me, well he likes to win his own ball and is hard at it, ahh dont get me started hope he breaks into the team soon...

A critic of Lids before this year but credit where credit is due, he has gone up a notch.

Need to keep working hard over summer to take his game to another level and be an elite midfielder with foley , cotch and tambling next year.

Good game by Lids.

His run in the 2nd Q. was unbelievable - The pass the Browny was superb.
I loved it when he got the ball on the half backline and took on the entire team.

Looks like he really wants to get his hands dirty and do some serious hard work, busted an absolute gut.
Was like a tackling machine at one stage laid about 3 hard tackles in one sequence of play.
Can't explain it but I agree with Liverpool, I think Cotchin has raised the bar and has had a positive effect on Lids.

Geez I wonder what Plough would think about putting him up forward?

He played where he was meant to and he turned the game on its head. He has finally come of age, he has improvements in his game to come and he will be one of the elite players in the comp.

His only fault is that he should look at the kick alot more, he handballs to free up a player in congestion which is the right thing to do, but he put Tambo under the pump when he could have gone long and use his thumping kick.

For mine he'd be close to the best outside mid in the comp ATM. His kicking is sensational and he keeps getting it. He works to support and he can win his own.

And he's probably only beginning to bloom.

His first half dozen games of the season were outstanding given that he was playing without the jets. His disposal was next door to infallible. After the week off he started to get a bit of the old pace back and he switched on the jets for a few strides last week and the week before.

When he gets a bigger tank, and he keeps improving in this area, whoa.

We have Cotchin, Foley and Lids. Three young mids. We get some quality pigs and that'll be a midfield to be reckoned with. Gotta get some muscle, a lot of muscle to make sure we're dishing out the pain in the guts not getting it.

Can't believe anyone would have any probs with his progression.

im not sure whether its his own doing or coaches instructions but he doesn't kick it enough.

agree its his best feature yet he waste it too much with handball getting cheap possies.

I'd say it's his own doing as Terry berated him for it after the Adelaide game (along with Tuck and someone else). I would like to see him bring out the barrell a bit more like in his first couple of years. That would be more effective than handballs running from the square into fwd 50.

yeah i miss the occasional Lids torpedo

the crowd loved it when Newy let one go yesterday even if it didn't pay off.
