Re: Brett Deledio

Found it amusing in one passage of play he had to be told by Foley to keep running to give the one- two when it looked like he was gonna stop for a rest.

The ball doesn't come in with enough quality for him to be a forward, he needs to be the one kicking it in.

And seriously if he doesn't become one of our best two onballers there's little hope for the future.

Re: Brett Deledio

I think with deledio, cotchin, foley, tambling, coghlan rotating thru the middle the future looks pretty bright. As long as we get rid of players like tuck, hyde, tivendale who constantly turn it over.

deledio has palyed 1 game as a mid this year
cotchin has not played a game (not even a practice match)
foley is a gun
tambling is just keeping his spot
coughlan is on 1 leg

looks great..... ???

Re: Brett Deledio

didnt even take 2 full games for the deledio at ff experiment to die in the ass, as predicted for a while now

get him in the middle and make him work

Where was some hardened bodies that could apply a bit of physical pressure to Rawling to let him know that he presence was noted and would be monitored.
Tucky should exert more influence in the guts that he did last week. As someone said to me is Tucky struggling with the increasing pace of the game?

Tuck as the senior player should have helped chop Foley out of trouble.
Tuck deserves the chop.

Re: Brett Deledio

Tuck can still be a handy player but he's not a gun mid. When lids and some other young gun put's their hand up then tuck can be used in a more effective way.

true but it would be nice to see them together, fit and all in or around the middle

Re: Brett Deledio

deledio showed some fantastic signs on the weekend again i say he could up ending being anything.
brett reminds me of both cousins and judd but with obvious differences. he shows glimpses of what may be and it should happen he just needs to find the hunger within. brett like cousins is at his best when he hits the fringes at pace.
unl;ike judd he he is taken out of contests to easily juddy gets it and thru sheer leg and hip power either shrugs a tackle and handballs or shrugs a tackle and runs. brett is nowhere near judd atm but he is getting close to cousins he just needs to develop a decent motor. he needs to get a little bit more dirty inside and out. and most of all he needs some big bodies around him to run blocks and create space.

Re: Brett Deledio

Griffin of the dogs played an awesome game against the saints tonight, running the lines and kicking goals on the run.

Lids was No 1 in the same draft, its time for him to take players on, use his pace and kick multiple goals on the run.

Lids has done that. He just needs to be given the chance again.

Exactly Ian. Maybe a great forward as well, but in a side that can't win a centre break clearance do we have the luxury of a guy with pace, skill and size sitting in the forward line hoping it might come his way. We have enough forwards that can win the ball if we could first win it out of the centre. Hard to show much when the ball is actually going the other way I suspect. 8)

No, especially with Morton and Pettifer in the side.
