Far and away our best player in the second half. Even a more importnat fact when you consider that he was one of our worst in the first half.

Most effort I have seen Lids show in his entire time at Richmond.

Well done.

Agree. Thought Pough made a mistake taking him off for a rest in the last quarter. Would like Lids to play like that from the opening bounce.

He took Tambling and Lids off, they were the drving forces around the stopages and were giving us all of our run.

Poor night for Wallace.

Re: Brett Deledio

As I said in the game day thread its probably time to put Lids in the mid field a lot more. He just can't get into the game starting up forward. With Foley as our best clearance player Lids shouldn't be tagged nearly as much.

You have to bear in mind those rotations are pre-determined and every side does it. Wallace did have a poor nightt regardless.

Think we are over-doing the rotations. Blokes barely get a chance to get into the game before they are running on and off again.

Lids had a purple patch for 5 minutes early in the 4th, and then went straight off. When blokes are finding the footy, surely you just leave them on and worry about the rotation later on.

He came straight off b/c he had something in his eye, is that OK?

Yet every other side is doing it and copes. The Kangaroos rotated just as much as us.

Re: Brett Deledio

Quiet first half then again how many times did it get up there and when it did they just bomb it, expect guys like schulz trying to take speccies you cant do that everytime, i said at half time for god sake get lids either on the ball or running out of the back half.
I would rather see morton and riewoldt in the forward line, lids on ball and cleve back to the magoos.
Very good 2nd half from lids, finished with 27 disposals and clearly our best player along with jay and newman.

Its a no brainer but not obviously to the hierachy that when lids gets the ball more times than not he does something with it.

do agree with you asute. deledio's best football will be played in the middle, and cleve is not up to it.

Why? That is absolute nonsense. Members like you think you know it all, when infact you know not much about the game. You probably could never play the game and just sit there each week in all your glory.

If you must know I am still playing I've probably played/coached more seasons of football than you been alive. But let's get off the personal.

For the faults in his game today Lids had 27 touches today, is that a career high?

Probably. Did play a good second half. We need more of it from him, because we all know he is capable

Re: Brett Deledio

Fair dinkum it was an absolute disgrace watching Lids sit in the fwd line.... what the hell did we recruit here? A fwd pocket/HBF? or a potenital gun midfielder?!?!?

Stuff this rubbish....Lids time is now to stand up and show if he is going to be what we all think...no more soft footy - easy kicks garbage....its on the ball or nowhere for me.... Deledio, Foley, Tambling and Polo should be the set up for most of the year now.

WALLACE - FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLAY THIS GUY ON THE FOOTBALL FOR 4 QUATERS!!!!!!!!!!

hyde, raines, tuck.....geez.....unbelievable

Re: Brett Deledio

Its time for this kid to be put to work and taken out of the cotton wool hes ben wrapt in.

The tigers so called future marquee star - should be put into the position to allow him to become a influential player in the engine room.

Playing this guy forward is making him softer instread of having him learn how to run off a tag and win the footy cos thats what this side needs him to do.

Get him in the Guts - and devlop blokes like Casserly and Connors who win hard footy and get rid of duds such as Hyde and Pettifer and Sanchez

Re: Brett Deledio

He and Browny are wasted in forward line just like Schulz is wasted in defence.

Bad coaching.

Re: Brett Deledio

Agreed Craig.... the sooner we get guys like Casserly, Connors, Edwards, MAtty White etc who are willing to put their bodies on the line and win a damn hard ball into the side (also can use the footy) - the better. We had a lot of lazy unaccountable footballers out there today. Lids was one of them...he needs to take some responsibility - because right now Tambling is giving us twice as much.

Browny can't play anywhere else, he's too slow, doesn't chase, tackle etc

All we need is his nous in the midfield not his speed.

TW'S Lids as a permanent forward was always going to be a failure.

Re: Brett Deledio

At half time I was thinking to myself that Deledio is a bitter disappointment.

He was terrible against Geelong last month, poor last week in a win, and invisible when today's game was on the line.

Even with 27 touches he didn't do that much with it - what happened to the fast 50m runs he used to do?

RUN Lids RUN!!

It really makes you realise that tanking for draft picks will NEVER win you premierships... er, sorry Carlton :hihi
