Just quietly...I'd like to think this thread has helped Lids identify some of his flaws...

The internet is an amazing place sometimes.

It is...i have heard the RFC has set up a PRE monitoring department to see what they must do next 8)

No wonder the game plan is all over the place, trying to use all the advice given here.

He's becoming a very reliable player for us. Uses the ball so well, even at full tilt. Now he's backing into packs, running with the flight of the ball. Kicking goals. Showing leadership. The elite category beckons.

A boy is becoming a man in AFL terms.

Speed, skill and a good size.

Another factor, I think Terry Wallace has coached him superbly through the first 55 games. Few scribes were very unhappy with the way Deledio was being nurtured but the plan that Wallace has set for him looks to have been spot on. The apprenticeship in the back half probably has 20 games left before his unleashed in the midfield.

Anyone see Walls's article in the Age today on the next generation of stars? He didn't include Lids the bastard.

Deledio treats his opposition with contempt. Fancy having a player hot on your tail but confident enought to bounce the ball knowing you are going to burn him off even with ball in hand. Magnificent to watch.

great game lids going to be one of the superstars of the future and great for richmond

good to see him going back with the flight of the ball into packs and showing some real courage on the football field

he is only going to get better

can't wait

There is nothing better than seeing Lids at full pace bolting away from just about anyone in the AFL. He did it last year to Judd at Subiaco and took him on with a bounce. His skills and awareness around the ground is first class. Every time he has the ball, you generally know his delivery will be on the money. If our young mid fielders like Tambling, Foley and Edwards (plus a fit *smile*) keep developing into high impact players, I reckon Deledios game will lift another level or two once the broader team starts to get more confidence. I like the attacking style we have been playing in the last month.....finals in 2008 beckons !!

I am loving the run and carry in the Tigers game the last two games.
Deledio, Hyde, Tambling, Newman and Foley etc. are tearing it up. Great stuff. :)

i`m not surprised at all with deledio`s form this year.
blind freddie could see he was going to be a great player from day one.
he just looks a class above the rest of the player`s on the field when he gets the ball, and the great thing about him is he only needs to get the ball 15 times a game to be very damaging with his run, carry and exquisite foot skills.
i love this kid.

i think that`s good, the less publicity the better.
i also noticed last night when he ran on to the ground before the game that he looks as if he has realy bulked up in the chest and arms, anyone else think that?

There was a moment late in the game that showed how much true class the boy has. He took the ball on the run into the centre square, cut hard right to change direction and then drilled a pass around his body, about 45 meters and no more than 3 meters off the ground, that hit Richo at full gallop lace out on the chest.

I was surrounded by Demons suporters and it was the first time in the match they had applauded anything by the Tigers, but this demonstration of skill got the golf clap and many murmers of approval!

His last 6 weeks have been terrific. Foley, Lids and Polak our three standouts this season.

Saw him go off with what looked a shoulder injury. He did not re-appear on the bench either.
