Brandon Ellis

I just watched the season highlights in the Fighting Tiger e-magazine, Brandon doesn't miss many snaps on goal. Deadly.

That's why they call them highlights.

Needs to get better in 2nd halfs, seems to fade out

From yesterdays reports, sounds like he is a few pre seasons away from building an elite tank. One that would not see him fade out in the 2nd half of matches. Could be anything with his size, strength, skill and footy smarts.

Ellis was the standout again at training first session back yesterday. Killing it apparently.

Stop reading the H/S, it will make you blind.
Don't you remember when Pettifier was burning the track back in 02? It means nothing

Maybe but he is certainly putting in the work to improve his tank. Expect really big things from Ellis this season

Reckon he is just getting an elite tank. Ready to be full time mid. The third year is when midfielders if they are going to be A graders, take a large step forward. I expect Brandon to do that in 2014. The big thing in his favour will be the fact that Chimp, Dusty or Lids will get the tag. I don't see any way he gets a close check. Very similar situation to what Steele Sidebottom got at Collingwood in year 2. When you compare both players in their second year, the stats are very close. When you take out the sub games, Brandon ranks better.

That's the type of path he should be looking to follow.

carlton tagged both him and dusty

bloody astute too. not only were these blokes sweeping off the back edge of the square, at this stage of their careers both are vulnerable to the hard tag.

left us in a shoot out in the middle with a tiring Maric going up against their elite rucks.

Didn't help that Conca was off the ground and Jacko was on one leg, either.

If tagged, wouldn't mind seeing in the fwd pocket.

Can take a strong mark and doesn't do too badly on the lead.

Started slowly last year too if I recall correctly. Didn't he get dropped after round 1. Maybe he trains too hard.
