Well put...we've found a solid citizen I believe, no star but good reliable player he will be

Which this season has shown we desperately need. If last year was a shallow draft, then we did well enough with pick 15 if this is the type of player we got.

I also hear he has a fantastic work ethic. So sounds like there is plenty of room for improvement.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

This kid is only 19.
Gees two more preseasons and he will still be a kid.

Really happy we got him and he will improve in leaps and bounds.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Kicks a lot on his non preferred foot, I wish a few others would attempt to do the same, but the fatigue in his legs is taking its toll.

Well done to the kid on a great first year. I personally think he was a bargain at 15 in a compromised draft. He will be a core player, the sort of bloke you know what you will get from him every week, for a long time to come.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Brandon is getting tired but he has had a ripper year and no reason for him not to keep playing especially as we are now officially in development mode and WE DONT GOT any options

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

He was getting 20 plus possessions in the middle of the year. He is tiring towards the end of the year which is normal for a young player. We should replace with him Jake Batchelor or David Astbury for the game against Essendon.

As far as I can tell Brandon has played more games than any 18 year old draftee this year. No wonder he is cooked.

Agree. Very common for the first and second year players to be burnt out near end of season.
Same thing happen to Travis Cloke (not that I'm comparing the two) Took him a couple of years to run out a season.
No need to judge him so early

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

What a gem this kid is. Just quietly goes about his business of playing good footy. Great skills, great attitude - and that interview he gave on RFC website was the most uplifting player interview I have ever seen.
3 thumbs up!

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Has had a good debut season but I'm not at all disappointed he's been dropped.
He has been struggling for several weeks now and deserved to be omitted on form.
Hopefully enjoys the week's rest and comes back in against Port.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

No Coburg game means he will get a rest :)

Kid is a gun but I think a few others will get the nod for Rising Star in front of him.

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

The back half of his season was pretty underwhelming tbh but I'm very surprised he didn't register a single vote in the RSA.
Seems not too many of the judges have been impressed/paying attention.

Decent first year but looking forward to seeing his progession in yr 2.

Very good, love the way he goes about it. Hopefully he gets a chance to go up the ground!

Re: Welcome Brandon Ellis

Cracking first year. For a pick 15 we have unearthed a gem.

Bradon Ellis, Billie Smedts, Christian Howard, Mitch Brown, Robbie Tarrant are the last five pick 15's.

We've done really well. I still think Brandon ends up a Jarred McVeigh type.

Jarrod McVeigh. MASSIVE call Scooper.

Leysy is a huge fan of him. The single most underrated player in the AFL for leysy. Wins his own footy, beats his man & one of the best users of the ball in the league.

Excellent first year no doubt. Still a slight query at the back of leysy's mind in regards to his pace for the height he is.

A solid 150 gamer though at worst, so possibly marking hard. He'll also leave no stone unturned to make his mark.
