Brandon Ellis

Is Brandon going to be on the trade table?
I doubt it the word is a highly respected player by his peers, very professional in his preparation and also willing to work on his weaknesses. Lacking a bit of confidence at the moment but determined to force his way back in. At his best easily best 22!

Best suited to the Wing not HBF.

Cheers, good answer!

Don't think his best is good enough to replace anyone who played agin Collingwood.

Rioli would knock one of them out.
less players can play Townsend role.

Thats 24 Id play before him.

Time to see if Menadue or Cellis are better given the same opportunities.

Then there are the new pups.

Back in the depth pack in front of

Miles n LLLyod. Between the four if you count Towner its a horses for courses who's injured call.

What a rubbish post Ninja. Was in an all Australian squad a few years back. So his best is definitely good enough to be in the 22.

As for gifting games to C Ellis, in short no. Next best performed at VFL gets the gig. Has to be performance based to keep the next level down applying pressure. Compromise that and don’t expect the AFL guys to feel the need to play to the same standards week in week out.

Agree. Years ago we played and tpiped games into the youth when form wise they probably didn't deserve it,mainly because we were no good anyway and had eyes on next year, and the next year after that.
Not so much atm. Corey and co need to dominate vfl, or play a role that is needed in afl,at vfl.

We are not looking with lust to next year any more, we are on set now

Wrong. He’ll be back. Needs to regain confidence and rediscover how to take the attacking option, not the safe option.

Or, just once, look up before he kicks. I think he'll have the time in the twos to get back in the habit of trying to hit targets or have a run. The last couple of weeks there he couldn't wait to get rid of it.

Yep. Thought he'd evicted the 2016 Brando, but he's let him sneak back in the room. Just needs to clear the head n find that 2017 Brando, much better player.

So who do you think he pushes out General?

Probably 1/2 dozen players straddling the line when discussing any hypothetical best 22.

According to the match committee he is on the wrong end of that equation at the moment.

Thought he was ok in the VFL game vs the Bullies but didn't stand out.

Nope didn't stand out at all. Did some nice things but others like Garthwaite and Menadue stood out more.

Bumped into Brandon after the game. Seemed upbeat considering. Copping demotion on the chin.
Reckons they tagged him fairly heavily last night.
