Even more unusual is why pick Lloyd if Lennon is to be the mid size forward. Given we don't have a decent small forward, we may as well play another genuine midfielder like a Conca and just keep resting our talented midfielders through the forward line.

Lennon should be persevered with to see if he can be our Breust in time.

Agree - with Conca and C Ellis your post makes sense - it may even happen for Fridays game

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

I liked him. Showed courage standing under the ball in the forward line and was rewarded with a free kick when the Freo player went over the top of him in a unrealistic spoiling effort. His kicking was the best I've seen too. It bodes well for the future with he and C. Ellis in the same team.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Shown enough the last 2 weeks to restore confidence he will make it. Not quite ready yet but better than a number of hacks that have been given games ahead of him this year. If he makes way for Sheds Knights or CEllis in the coming weeks then no harm, he now knows what it takes and what he needs to do over coming pre-seasons to become a starting 22/18 player. Not sure whether he will be elite, but certainly adds class and skill to a traditionally unskilled list.

One thing he is , is a beautiful kick and accurate shot at goal
Never had any doubt he would slot those too goals
Well done Ben

How on earth was Morris getting a gig in the fwd line before him ?
Haha, it's outrageous, isn't it.

I guess it's a case of better late than never.

Time to bring in C Ellis and Knight whenever he gets his body rightt. We need all the classy players on the field come finals. No journeymen.

Yes, I think Lennon may have spelled the end for Morris as a small forward. I don't know what other position they'll be able to invent for Steve.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

I think a lot of people went early on writing him off. I'm not saying he has made it or anything like that as he still has some work to do, but the lack of patience some were affording to him was quite surprising considering he is only a second year player.

The cream is rising to the top and it's good the team that it is.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Class shone through. Some of his more illustrious teammates could get kicking lessons off him.

right on St K. he has grabbed his opportunity with aplomb.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Another avenue to goals for us, hell at least we know he is reliable.
That's unless he catches the yips from his more senior players.

If we manage finals, might be an ace up our sleeves. ;D

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

The sooner Lennon,CEllis,Menadue,Butler replace Newman,Gorgon,Morris in the team the better we will become

Hopefully its 2016

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

So Morris played (note the past tense) 12 games in 2015 in the forward line and managed to kick the amazingly remarkable 4 goals.......................................... and Lennon, in his last 2 games, has managed 5 goals. Say no more.

I liked Morris when he was that back pocket player - thought he served the club well in that position when we were a developing team, but the team has improved and the teamhas moved on.

morris played in the back line in the vfl yesterday so I hopefully the morris forward experiment is done and dusted finally

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Lennon hopefully maintains his up curve.

Edwards, Deledio, Knights and Lennon and Jack along with Martin up forward is a pretty handy looking forward line.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Leysy hasn't been a fan, but will say one thing he's a damn fine kick and a one grabber.

More than most fitness will be the key for Ben's career.

Definitely deserves his spot.

Hopefully his finishing can rub off on the others.

Whack Vickery in there and it is actually looking like a forward line that has some fire power. Who woulda thunk it?

Correct Dear Leysy

His ability is not whats kept him in the seconds ........................ work ethic two way running and fitness are whats kept him in the 2s.
